If you have any gardening mods first try removing these otherwise.
Move your Mods folder to the Desktop and delete localthumbcache.package. Then test the game
If it works now check for updates to your Mods and CC. Add it back a little at a time while testing until you have found all that are broken.
Before I sent the first post I turned off mods it was still having the problem. Not knowing that even though it showed that they were healthy plants immediately they in I'm dying mode. I started a new game and did all the testing and found it was a mod that had since been updated and I hadn't checked on it. Thank you for your help.
Would you mind sharing which mod it was? I'm having the same issue and can't seem to pin it down!
