I've been having the exact same problem! At this point, I'm blaming The Sims. I've never once had problems with my mods, not even the ones I've had since 2019 December- suddenly there's a new update and my CAS won't open/load for nothing in the world, and I refuse to delete my mods.
@natriean You don't have to delete them if they are updated. Just get the current version for them. Mods can get outdated with patches, that's just the way it is. If they didn't get updated, you should remove them if you want to play your game.
