How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)

What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? I downloaded the holiday DLC but have not yet installed it.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Resume/start playing and it is at the lower left, covering the Sim's mood and headshot.
What happens when the bug occurs? Other than the black boxes, the game seems to perform as normal.
What do you expect to see? No black boxes.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure
The game crashed on me a few times today (likely due to an already existing but I believe EA knows about) and ever since there have been two black boxes at the bottom left of my screen covering my Sim's mood and headshot (see attached). I've exited and restarted several times and even uninstalled and reinstalled - the boxes are still there. Is this a known bug? What do I do?
