Update: It is no longer just from washing their hands. I removed the sink entirely to try to fix the glitch and the second one of them went to the bathroom, they got stuck again.
I don't know what they are seeing but my adult sim will got to the bathroom then wash his hands and be unable to move. There was a second bug where he couldn't upgrade the tub and shower combo. But I managed to fix the shower one by selling the tub and buying a new one. For reference my bathroom sink is to the right of the bathroom door. My bathroom is a 3 by 3 cause that's how I build mine in the Sims 4 game. He will just wave his hand and have the walking symbol with an x on it if I ask him to do any other interactions or move anywhere. He will sit there and play on his phone until I either move the sink away then back or cheat teleport him out of the situation.
