Sims 4 Error code 22 : Game failed to save (corruption ?)
Hello !
I have encountered a problem in my Sims 4 game today right after a game update, and a system update. As usual I updated my mods accordingly, but surprisingly my mods were already reactivated when the game launched again. I tried to load my last save (the sim icon was entirely blank) and it led me right to the "choose a season to play in" screen, as if i was starting a new save, with a new family, and a text box pops up "The game failed to Save. Please exit to Main Menu and then click Play to reload the game. Error code : 22". I follow those instructions but it shows up again and again, so I try to go load my household, but it's entirely gone, and every lot is marked as a "non-residential lot", even the ones occupied by townies. All of my played households and custom townies are gone. I go back to the main menu and try to recover a previous save, the save does not recover. I try copying it, nothing happens. I try another save, same problem as earlier, blank slate, corrupted game. I go in my files to copy and paste a save I tried to recover, blank slate. I remove my mods, same thing. Any time I relaunch the game, a sims delivery error code pops up as well (see attached screenshot).
I come on the EA answers HQ to see if anyone had a similar problem, and try to follow the instructions they were given. I tried a clean boot, but I left the ea app running, since i thought it might be necessary to run the game, but the exact same thing happened. I restore my settings, make a backup of my game files and reset the game. I create a sim quickly, but I'm stuck at the "save this household in your library and start playing" screen. The game isn't frozen, the sim is moving in the background, the music is still playing.
I'm at my wit's end, I might have done something wrong in my troubleshooting steps, but I can't know for sure. Some notable things is my game takes a very long time to close, so I usually wait until the "Saving..." screen leaves, wait a few minutes, and if I'm in a rush, I turn my computer off, I haven't had any issues so far (until today), so that might be it ? And while Windows was updating, my game started updating too, that could also be the cause. I will attach some screenshots I took. I tried to attach my DxDiag in the replies as well, but it's long, and it's a little tedious having my answers be deleted again and again, but I will do it if needed.
Thank you kindly for reading !
I had the exact problem after the latest game update and windows update.
Tried everything, every tip, every hint. Every suggestion there was. Nothing helped.Nearly attacked my own poor laptop.
Tried starting a completely new TheSims4 folder to see if that helped.
But got a new error saying I had run out of memory. Blood boiling at this point.
Searched for help on my new problem and came over a post giving som hint as what to do.

Followed the steps. And lo and behold, the game was up and running as nothing had ever happen.
All my saves, mods, cc. All there.
So I really hope that may help you as well. Fingers crossed.
