Hey everyone,I just wanted to drop a quick note to say "thank you" for all the reports you've sent in.We've been digging into the DLC download issue, and together with our teams and the solutions that are shared in this thread, we've managed to uncover a few possible causes and workarounds.Please check the following:- Make sure your bank account has enough funds for the purchase. If it's running low, the purchase might fail, and that means the DLC won't show up correctly in your account, leading to this download problem.
- Check that your billing info is up to date.
- If your order seems stuck on "Processing", consider cancelling it and purchasing it again. But before you do, double-check those funds in your bank account.
- If you've got an order marked as "Completed" or "Fulfilled" in your Order History but the download is still acting up, please perform the following steps:
- Restart your computer,
- Open up the EA app and look for the "Home" button in the top-left corner,
- Find the Horse Ranch Expansion banner and click on "Get the Game,"
- The option to download the DLC should appear.
- For Origin for Mac users, please perform the following steps:
- Head over to the Origin settings and enable "Automatic Game Updates,"
- Restart Origin,
- Origin should now start the download of the DLC.

I preordered it from CDKeys. My account says I own the game and the download button is lit up ready to download but when I click on it I nothing happens.
Same here! My order says "processing" ☹️
I can click download but it just stays on "Preparing download".. ☹️

Mine dosn’t even do that when I click on home, get game and then download it does a quick flash of a red circle and then off again. It’s a technical issue with Origin and the EA app nothing to do with purchasing, not having funds or even where you purchased it from.
I tried to install it yesterday in the morning (I’m in UK) and didn’t realise that you had to wait until 6pm. So I don’t know whether that did anything. Alright XD but then what when you did cancel it, but the app still acts as if I have it so I CANT repurchase ? :D

I got it off CDKeys too and same that the download button is lit up and just does the twirly thing.
Clearly the code they sent was correct otherwise I would not have been able to add it to my account.
There is nothing else that we can do except wait for EA to fix this problem so please do it's been near enough 18 hours right now and that's just ridiculous.

I also have this problem, I have opened a case and done a EA App Error Report.
I pre-ordered (from EA App) and so far seems like pre-ordering has just brought more harm than good, and I was really really excited for this pack!
I've seen some people say they still got their pre-order goodies after canceling and repurchasing and some haven't, so I would rather not cancel until someone answers my case request and tells me to just to be sure I won't lose money 🤐
Not trying to be mean, but honestly if this wasn't EA, a big, reputable company, I would've thought I was getting scammed (not getting the product you ordered). 😞

I changed the card I used to a different one and I was able to start the download!
I'm guessing that when I pre-ordered, I had enough funds (ofc) in that card, but when the pack actually released, it didn't have funds anymore and that broke it. That's why my order was Processing.
Should rather take the payment when you actually make the purchace lol.
If your status is processing, try changing card details to an account that has enough funds and waiting 30mins. Worked for me.
I was already feeling really defeated and desperate, but I'm glad this started working anyway.
NOW I just need to figure out how to get the help center to let me resume my case and let the support team know as well, because currently I am not able to do that 😕 Yeah, I'm also having the issue where I purchased the game yesterday and it's still asking me to purchase. The order is Completed and Fullfilled in my order history, when I open the game it says I own it but it's not downloaded but there is no option to download it in the EA app, it still only shows "Purchase"
I chatted with EA support yesterday (which was a feat in itself trying to find a Help option that worked and didn't lead to a 404 page) and tried:
-App recovery clear cache,
-Uninstall/reinstall EA app
The most irritating part of this is being flat out told they will not refund me when I asked if they could refund the order so I could try rebuying. I've not played Sims 4 in about a year & was already on the fence about giving EA my money for what has largely been mediocre product lately but was having a bad day and was like yeah fine lets give it a go. Joke is on me I guess, but it's incredibly bad customer service for a huge company like this to be holding people's money hostage for a product they cannot use.
I don't even know that I want to play anymore, but I guess since I'm not allowed to have my money back (???) under any circumstances I'll wait. This will absolutely be the last time I purchase anything from EA. Unbelievable
The suggestions don`t work for me. So far I have restarted my PC, uninstalled and reinstalled the EA app, repaired my Sims 4 installation, changed to automatic downloads and then back to manual again, used the Get the Game link (where it tells me I already own it) and tried downloading through the Manage Add-ons option in my library. Nothing. My billing address is correct, and I have more than enough funds to cover the purchase. The purchase is showing as Completed in my account, and the funds have been collected.
I have reported this under ID c88e6c12-0087-484e-a703-75e2fd9393ac. Seriously soooo annoyed and frustrated right now!

Cancel the preorder then buy it. You wont lose anything.
I also got my game from CDkey, there are never any problems with the payment method there.
The code was accepted, but the game was not displayed as belonging to me.
But when I start the SIMS I see that I own the expansion, but I can't enter the world.
Various resets, restarts, reinstalls.
It is not the player, the person who pays, but the developer, because people have bought their games directly from EA, Amazon, Steam and CDKeys.- @jpkarlsen hi! thanks afgain but i bought the game when the pre-orders started, i can't cancel anything...
I "own the game" already, just says something went wrong, i don't know what to do!
- @floranne1997 you can, check if they take cash from your account. if not just cancel request on EA SITE not APP.
Hi.
so I've been having trouble with this sims 4 Horse Ranch Expansion Pack all day, I've pre-ordered it and the money didn't come out, then it says i can download it and it stays at preparing so then i go in and then cancel it.
so it is now 11 P.M on the 21st where I live and the Expansion pack came out at 3 A.M on the 21st
I just talked to an EA Customer support person and they said that cause I cancelled the order it will automatically remove from my account after some time. So I don't know if any one else has tried this but I am hopeful that this will solve it.

- @floranne1997 Dumb question....if i download origin it wont let me click on anything..do i just leave it open? it forces me to upgrade
