Re: Deleted Desktop Shortcut

@baphomite  A desktop shortcut for an application points to that application's executable file, as in, the file you use to launch the app.  This has nothing to do with your user data.  So either the problems are unrelated or you deleted something else.

To recreate the .exe, you can find the original, likely here in a Steam install:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Sims 4\Game\Bin

Right-click TS4_x64.exe and select Send to > Desktop shortcut.

For the missing content, normally it's a OneDrive issue, as descriebd here:

But from your description, I'm wondering whether you deleted something else instead.  Please run the search that first post describes anyway, and let me know whether you find any saves.  If not, please list the full path to the user folder Sims 4 is reading.  Here's how to find it:
