Sims4 game won't load!

I loaded the game up yesterday perfectly well. Once on the home page, I got the message saying there had been an update, so mods were disabled. I then enabled my mods, exited the game and tried to reload, but nothing happened. When I click play I get the loading box, the EA app vanishes, as it normally would to make way for the game, 4–5 seconds later the EA box pops back up and that's as far as I'm getting. (windows also did an update on the same day, if that matters).

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the EA app, I've repaired the EA app, I've cleared cache, and repaired the game, but it still won't load.

I think my head may explode! Help me obie-wan

P.S, im no computer genius, so please explain any possible fixes like you're trying to teach your Grandad how to use a smartphone.

Dxdiag attached.

  • Nicisoxx  Thanks for providing a dxdiag.  Does the game work if you remove the Mods folder from Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4?  Please try that first.

Please also update the driver for your graphics card.  You can use the newest release from Nvidia:

    https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/details/245674/

Run the installer as an admin: right-click the download and select "Run as administrator."  Select the Custom (not Express) install method, and check the box to perform a clean install.  Restart afterwards and before trying to play.

Hey, Thank you so much for your reply.

I checked the mod folder in the location u told me, but it's empty, which is weird because that's where I thought they were 😕... I do have the TSR CC manager, tho, and that's where I found all my mods. All mods are up-to-date. Should I move that folder?

I also updated the driver, thank you for that.

But sadly, I still can't load the game up.

  • Nicisoxx  Yes, please remove the entire Mods folder that contains all your mods and custom content.  It could be inside a different Documents folder, but it will always be inside Electronic Arts > The Sims 4, or else the game wouldn't be reading it.

    Hello 😁

I got so annoyed yesterday that I uninstalled everything to do with The Sims, mods and EA. I then reinstalled it all and tried to load the game, this time I got an error code. Long story short, I searched the error code on here and got instructions on how to fix it... and it worked! I wish I could remember the username of the person whose post I followed, but I was so excited that the game loaded that I got side tracked, lol.

Thank you for your help, tho, much appreciated.
