Re: Is this computer good for Sims 4 with mods and cc

@Braince11s  Using an external hard drive will slow down Sims 4 relative to how it would run on the internal drive.  So you're better off investing that money in an upgrade for the computer itself.  If you're willing to buy the hard drive but someone else is paying for the laptop, it might be worth offering to contribute what you'd spend on the drive to the purchase price of the laptop instead.

You didn't mention which country, so I'm guessing that means you're in the U.S.  In terms of new computers, you're not going to find something better than the third laptop you listed for $250 or less, at least not outside of major sales (Black Friday and the like).  If you're willing to buy used though, this one is significantly better, with a faster processor and graphics chip, plus twice the storage and 16 GB RAM:

If that's not a possibility, this one has the lower-level processor and graphics chip, the same as the one in the third laptop you linked, but twice the RAM and storage:

To be clear, the first option above is much better; I'm mentioning the second in case the first isn't available locally.

If your budget is higher than $250, whether because there's some wiggle room in the offer or you're willing to contribute to the budget yourself, let me know, and I'll look around for other new options.

Hi! I was looking and I started question if I was really gonna use the computer as a lot of time when I get crazy like this over a game it only lasts a few months so I started to look for cheaper options I’m still most likely going to buy the one you said was good but I was wondering about these-

Gateway 15.6" Ultra Slim Notebook, FHD, Intel® Pentium® Silver, Quad Core, 128GB Storage, 4GB Memory, Tuned by THX™ Audio, 1.0MP Webcam, HDMI, Windows 10 S, Microsoft 365

ASUS 15.6" FHD Laptop, Intel Pentium, 4GB RAM, 128GB eMMC, Windows 11 Home in S mode with One Year of Microsoft 365 included, L510MA-WS21

@Braince11s  These have the same limitations as the third laptop you linked in your original post but are less powerful: the Pentium processors are not as capable, and have somewhat slower graphics chips, than the i3 in that other laptop.  So I wouldn't get either of these.  The 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage are both going to be a long-term issue even if you stop playing Sims 4 and just use the laptop for other tasks too, with the RAM already being somewhat limiting even for light multitasking.

Ok thank you! I’ve decided to go with the one you suggested!
