Re: Re: Sims 4 Keeps Crashing 9/20/2024

@BaylieC  Your graphics driver is a bit old, not excessively so but perhaps enough to be an issue after the recent update.  But the problem is that HP laptops typically block the installation of drivers not provided by HP, and I don't know if HP itself has a newer driver than what your laptop has installed.  To check, go here:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/laptops

Enter your serial number, choose your OS (just Windows 11 is fine) if asked, and you'll land on the driver download page.  Don't let the site check for newer drivers for you.  Instead, click All Drivers, then Driver-Graphics, and look for a driver newer than yours, which has a version number of 31.00.0101.5186. A driver starting with 32 would be newer, as would a driver starting with 31 and ending with a number higher than 5186. And to be clear, you can only use an Intel driver, not one from AMD or Nvidia if you see either on that page.
If you're not sure what you're looking at, please link the download page here. That page doesn't contain any information about your own computer, only the overall model. The serial number is to make sure you get exactly the right download page, and then the information is discarded.

Having said all that, try forcing Sims 4 to use DirectX 11.  Open your EA App game library, click Sims 4 > Manage > View properties, and add -dx11 to the command line box.  Please remember that you've done this, as you'll need to remove it to revert to DX9 should you want to at some point.

I’m having the same issue but when adding items during build mode. I don’t use mods so it wouldn’t be one of those crashing. A couple of items from certain game packs have disappeared that I often use as well. I have deleted re installed and repaired the game multiple times.

    Any help with this?

    I use a HP laptop
