Re: Sims 4 crashing on external ssd

@feedonthedead  Does the game crash with no mods or custom content at all?  Please test if you haven't already, and while troubleshooting, leave your mods and cc out until the game is otherwise stable.

If that doesn't help, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

When you get a crash, please also confirm that your external SSD is still connected and recognized by the system.  Additionally, make sure the cable is inserted securely and there's nothing that could jostle or put pressure on it while you're playing.

@feedonthedead  Two of the Sims 4 crashes in your dxdiag list a component of the Intel graphics driver as the faulting module.  The rest list a component of the VC++ runtimes, which could be corrupt but also could be fine—these runtimes need to interact with the graphics driver, which could be the cause of these crashes too.  So the first step here is to reinstall the driver.  You have a slightly newer driver than the most recent one HP offers for your laptop, so you'll need to clean-uninstall the current one first.  Here's how:

    https://crinrict.com/blog/2019/02/clean-re-install-of-graphics-drivers-with-display-driver-uninstaller-ddu.html

You can get a fresh copy of the newest-available HP driver here:

    https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/hp-probook-450-g7-notebook-pc/29090065

To be clear, you're only looking for the Intel driver, not the DisplayLink or Nvidia driver.  You may also land on a generic page that asks you to choose your OS; just choose Windows 11, then open the Driver-Graphics section and download the Intel driver.  Restart your computer after installing it and before trying to play.

If you get another crash, please post a new dxdiag.
