@Koochi-QPlaying BFV as the BF series is my main game.

I am looking at RIOTs Project A https://www.riotgames.com/en/project-a Not sure it will be the kind of game I like but it is on a lot of peoples radars.

RIOT knows how to nurture a successful competitive scene that is for sure. The art style is meh but if it plays good I can overlook that.

@CrazyPlays54I have watched streams and looked at it on steam but not sure I want to do a survival type game again. Played ARK and it was cool in a novelty kind of way. Still on my radar though.

@GRiPSViGiLThat game’s still too far away for me to be interested. It looks like a Paladin’s game but more focused on abilities and shooting as opposed to using your abilities to bolster your shooting.

    No overwatch 2 for you?

In the grand scheme of things, we need to remember that the game has only been out for 11 months.

If you take that into account, and correct me if I'm wrong, but Fortnite also won Best Multiplayer only but a year after release.

That being said, i believe Apex is on the right track, it has a solid base, regardless of the ongoing issues, and I'm sure they'll be improving the game even more as we move forward.

    @Gabrielmojo26

To compare Fortnite Season 3 to Apex season 3 and the development of the game. Season 3 in Fortnite was earlier on in the development of the game it wasn't until season 7 that fortnite introduced longer battlepass sessions. With that being said the only connection issue in Fortnite at the end of season 3 was Tilted Towers. Man the servers would lag bad since about half the bus landed there every freaking game.

I only bring this into the conversation because @GRiPSViGiL is stating connection as his main issue. Which I also have issues with. The best local server to me is one of the 4 Iowa servers and the best rate I can get is 45. My connection and setup are just fine this is a limitation on their(EA) servers and has been since launch of the game.

Getting back to my original topic Fortnite had some 45 ping for me if I landed in generally hot spots right at the beginning of a match but it calmed down quickly within 10 seconds or so and the rest of the game it was not present. Whereas in Apex there are some hot fights, multiple squads and I will see enemies rubberbanding and jumping around in odd ways. I used to have a phrase when I first started playing multiplayer FPS online, "If I go through a doorway twice I am done playing it". Well i am not going through a doorway twice but it is apparent others are.

In the end we play this game because we love/hate it and will continue to do so until we get where Grips is at and say enough is enough. I play at least one game a night, but unless some meaningful changes come before the end of season 3(Server, footstep audio, Matchmaking in Public lobbies etc) I will probably just stick to MW.

I cannot go back to Fortnite, the building dynamic is ok, and I used to win alot of build battles. I just seriously have zero interest in resharpening those skills again. The one thing I do jump on with my kids once in awhile for a playground match or 50 v 50, which is fun for a bit. Just think if Apex cracked open a limited map with a 50 v 50 scenario. That would be a fun little game mode.Or for my east coast friends it would be "wicked good/awesome"

@mastiffslinger Valid points indeed, i’m just saying both games share a similar parallel as to progression, one might have a bigger team then the other, one might be more productive, i don’t know honestly, but imo Apex is doing ok considering it’s been out for barely 11 months as a « beta ». I say beta, since games pushing out updates were never considered final versions to me personally, hence why i have a tendency to be a little more lenient when it comes to what we consider issues.

@Gabrielmojo26Nahhh I don’t look at game of the year or any kind of awards as a measure of justification or evidence for a game’s well doing.

I’ve played games that won awards which I still not liked very much. Apex may win all the prizes in genres it sits in, that would still not make it any better a game, but that was not entirely your point.

If Respawn acted differently, this would be a great game. Hell most people who left the game still say the concept and mechanics are good, the mismanagement is what made them quit. Usually why people quit a game boils down to 3 reasons:

    1) the game just isn’t for them (this is fairly early on OR if some new update messes the game up

    2) mismanagement (can be anything from bad PR, no updates, not listening to playerbase etc)

    3) grew tired of it (for any number of reasons not including the mentioned above one)

For this game I’ve categorized most players leaving as reason 2. They just didn’t want to play anymore even tho they really like(d) the game. 11 months was more than enough time to either fix lingering problems or at least acknowledge them to some degree.

Did they acknowledge the 20 tick rate servers getting an upgrade, no. Should they for a game that has bullets flying faster than the servers handle the logic, absolutely.

Other problems are also prevalent but this is the one nagging everybody in the back of their necks like a sweet temptress with a lovely perfume who bites you when you need that melodic voice singing in your ear.

My 2 cents that I’ve taken out of the slot machine cause I’m a greedy person XD

@Koochi-Q With the upcoming esport tournament, they must have something up their sleeve as far as servers, updates and what not. I would hate to think they’d go in guns blazing without resolving some ongoing issues.

@Gabrielmojo26  Yep they probably do. Dedicated servers for the pc players in the tournament. Us lowly peasants shall suffer still.

If we weren’t passionate about the game we wouldn’t be here. But I am at my wits end after a couple of games tonight.

On a side note I see how people like sbmm now after reading other threads. Some people that have been very vocal talking about averaging 5+ kill games with mid teens in damage. Yeah my games used to be that way too. Now tonight in four games average damage was 1000 with an average of 1 kill per game. Seems off. Knocking a couple of people per game just trying to keep squads from eating my team alive is old and boring now. I think I am in the camp of others and I am moving on.

@Gabrielmojo26 Yea... I’m skeptical. Weren’t there already tournaments in the past where ppl got errors, D/C without marvel and other problems?
  • @Koochi-Q Some leakers have been saying that custom lobbies are coming/being worked on. Just what I heard though, don't quote me on that.

@Koochi-Q Funny thing. Overwatch Legendary edition went on sale for $20! I snapped it up. Leaving on a family vacation to Costa Rica tonight though but looking forward to diving in it when I return.

@Gabrielmojo26 That and I also like the idea of growing games. If it means there are growing pains so be it. It can get frustrating but I like that they are willing to try new things and different things. Not only to improve the game, but give us content we want. Now i know some of us don't like all of the content, but what some of us don't like others do.. It's just finding that happy medium.

I think a huge issue with BR, is that people want to win all the time. People want to dominate everyone..

@Koochi-QOverwatch is fun but it isn't really scratching that itch.  I like to kill time with it but I don't view it as a replacement for Apex.  I picked up the Edge of Darkness Escape from Tarkov game package today after lots of video and stream watching.

Yeah escape from Tarkov looks pretty interesting. Not the conventional shooter genre, and the way it's been set up, you'll be really anxious to die in game. By upping the stakes they really gave it an edge.

@GRiPSViGiLBefore the game even launched, someone I knew couldn’t stop talking about it. I dunno if he plays it now tho but I haven’t really looked at it, but the realism isn’t really for me.

Hope you’ll like it tho, I’m just SP gaming these days, clearing my backlog... gots to happen before the new gen consoles arrive... (yes it’s that long :P)
