@MandatoryIDtag following your target with the hip-fire reticle should count for recoil control no? Was there like a secret "improve your hip-fire with this easy tip!" Apex Video I missed or something?
@pastaclown Idk, I've just been using the prowler alot lately and found I generally had better hipfire damage per burst whilst mitigating the vertical recoil?
What...is this not a thing people do? O.o
@MandatoryIDtag I don't think so? You pull down while hipfiring with the Prowler?
I'm confused now. Like if you were supposed to compensate for recoil while hip-firing, which way would you pull for Flatline? Or R301? Or Alternator even? The hip-fire on those guns have minds of their own. Sometimes you'll spray a target 3 meters away and every shot'll hit, and other times the bullets will come out at an angle that's not feasibly possible unless the barrel of your gun broke entirely.
Havoc's the worst offender, I'm always shocked when I see people hip-fire with that thing in Youtube videos and kill someone. They'll spray 10 rounds at a target 3-5 meters away and hit 7 of 10 rounds. I'll hip-fire at a target 2 meters away and hit 4 of a 32 round mag.
@pastaclown Well a weapon still has reoil whether you ADS or not doesn't it, with the heavy horizontal ones I don't bother as like you said as you're aiming left or right as strafe anyway so it doesn't really work...plus it kinda balances itself anyway, depending how you strafe.
Anything with heavy verty and I still hold back slightly though.
It could just purely be a placebo effect on my part I suppose? Definitely feels like it works lol, used to to do it with the r99 too before it got packaged.
- @MandatoryIDtag I think Mr. Pasta means that as long as your crosshair is on target, you are doing recoil control. Cuz the crosshair moves along with the recoil. Wait what, I feel stupid now lmao.
I'm guessing you are complaining that you can't aim while hip firing and moving.
I'll tell you a secret. Different guns recoil better with different strafes..
Take this as an example
Equip a 301, strafe right, aim left, holding down the trigger at a dummy. You'll probably hit every shot. Now do the opposite, strafe left, aim right, you'll probably miss every shot.
Now grab the flatline, and strafe left aim right, bet you hit every shot(opposite of 301).
Have you considered using opposite strafe to your aim and recoil pattern of the weapon you are holding? If not, you should, because not all guns are equal, and their accurate is hidden behind you moving the wrong way with the fire button down...relative to the recoil pattern of the gun you hold. This can make huge impacts because if you are flanking left with a 301 your probably gonna miss shots, but a right flank as you come around a corner you'll hit your shots
This is just an example. Pick your weapon to match how you rotate, and how you move. To help negate some recoil, vs induce more from character bob.
Here ya go, with only strafe input.
@Zulopi oh...hidden mechanics. Wow they really nerfed the R301 more than I thought originally. You used to be able to perform literal gymnastics with the rifle, hip-fire, and land 90% of your shots on a target 10m away.
100% agree. The hipfire is garbage. Multiple times missed the entire mag because of the RNG. You either ADS and hit every shot or you get knocked. This game's gunfighting is quite terrible.
