Re: LAGGING ISSUES FOR CONSOLE PLAYERS #FIX

Took longer than I thought to test this issue out myself.

For Context, I’m playing on an XBOX One X, 4k TV, & Wired internet connection.

- I played 10+ matches in Trios, with the game installed on Internal Storage.

- I then, Installed the game on my External HD.

- I played 10+ matches in Trios, with the game installed on my External HD.

After playing on both, I experienced MORE lag, and stuttering when playing on the External HD.

APEX, seems to run smoother with LESS lag, when installed in the Xbox’s Internal Storage.

So it seems my outcome is in contrast to others experiences.

*Update*

- After my test I transferred the game back to Internal Storage again, and it seems the stuttering/ lag has gotten worse…. So Idk what the heck is going on…

I’m moving it back to the External HD, will update again once I’ve been able to play test.

*Update 2.0*

Seems to be running a little smoother on the External HD… which leads me to believe its a server issue not an issue of where your game file is saved.

As in my case, going back and forth twice now, it doesn’t seem to have changed much of anything, in regards to the stuttering issue.

@SILVERisSORRYI play on PS5 still get lag and stuttering, I don't think storage got anything to do with the lag .
what really helped me is changing the DNS as one of the Cms  suggested to another forum member .
but in general STAY AWAY from Frankfort servers 🙂

  • I was suffering stuttering issues that was rendering Apex unplayable.

Here is one example of a stutter death (and some wayward shooting):

And another that was particularly annoying

To rule out internet speed issues, here is video of me playing Paladins after I had quit Apex in disgust after that last stutter death. More data (ten players as opposed to six) and zero stuttering (and lots of spammy shooting, but that's Paladins for you)

So, I took the extreme step of completing resetting my XBox One (which really was my last resort) and you know what? It worked! Played for four hours yesterday and not one single stutter! Yippee! I'm guessing over time the internal disk gets fragmented and Apex cannot access the disk fast enough when this has happened. This is just a guess, though. By wiping the disk and redownloading Apex the stuttering stopped. If you have problems, try this extreme step. It worked for me but YMMV.

@EdwardDLuffy So I guess on this one occasion, we PS4 players can be happy we have to spend a half hour minimum downloading updates!

I play Apex on Xbox One,PS4 & PS5 (which is my main console) & to be honest I have been plagued with lag, stuttering & game freezing (like yourself) throughout seasons 9 & 10.I kind of hoped playing Apex on a 'next gen console' would be the definitive version of the game but I'm disappointed there is still no 'next gen upgrade'  or no inkling as to when one might be out (other than the words 'soon' being muted). All in all playing Apex on PS5 has been a big let down for me particularly due to various performance issues mentioned .I'm on London servers & am finding packet loss more & more frequent nowadays.
