If you are hiding, the laser sight does tend to stand out. It's silly but I have to put away my smg with site when I'm scoping out enemies or often they seem me first.

@KelRiever It could possibly be better to just ignore them until you find a purple one. I use hipfire on SMGs quite a bit, so I'm picking up anything that improves it a bit, even if it is still not as good as last season's default hipfire.
Also, if they can ever get it working properly, you can customize your laser sight color to lessen its visibility. Currently you can customize it, but it will soon return to the default red, just like custom reticles did when they were introduced. I have not yet explored all of the options, but I think you should be able to make it black or some other color unlikely to be noticed, just like a custom reticle can. I want to customize mine so that it is less intrusive to my view on screen. But you bring up an even better reason.
