Re insatlled Origin and updated it and still same issue. have tried to connect to a game by joining a friends and still nothing happens.

  • Hi there,

Sorry was away the last couple days. Ok so DL the above and installed it, what specifics should i change there? Re-installed the browser plugin and my power settings were already at 100%.

This is what I get now-

When I click on "play game" through Origin it doesnt launch Battlelog, I have to log in my browser manually. When i select a server to play, the game manager pops up fine saying "joining server" followed by the windows message saying if I allow this program to make changes to my computer. Not sure why this pops up but select yes anyways. It just hangs there with the game manger saying joining server and the Origin pop up saying Launching BF3. Which it doesnt.

    Anyother sugegstions?

Did this and setting where fine but not working still

    *********************************************************************************************************************************

    1. Click Ctrl-Alt-Del to run Task Manager

    2. Find under processes Origin.exe

    3. Disable it

    4. Go to Battlelog and login

    5. Join some server

    6. Origin should now open when you try to join a server.

     Tried, origin opens fine,

    ********************************************************************************************************************************

    1) Goto the folder whereOrigin installed BF3 (C:\Program Files (x86)\Battlefield 3\ Battlefield 3™) (thats where mine was installed)

    2) Rename the Battlefield 3™ folder to Battlefield 3 - (removing ™)

3)Start regedit , browse to the following key :

    HKEY LOCAL MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WoW6432Node\EA Games
    Change the GDFBinary & InstallDir paths to C:\Program Files (x86)\Battlefield 3\ Battlefield 3 - again removing ™
Didnt have the (tm) after my file so not a problem

    and it will launch fine

Note: when you rename the folder and edit the registry You have to make sure Origin is not running.

Problems: "Game in the back need to be closed", "BF3 not launching", "Stuck at joining"

Cause: Origin is not updating. Newest version is 8.6.1.39. Version shown 8.6.1.37 or older.

Solution: Download link for right installer: https://download.dm.origin.com/origin/beta/8.6.1.39/OriginSetup.exe [download.dm.origin.com]

Did the full manual unistall of origin as mentioned below and re DL the latest version. still get stuck on joining server
    *********************************************************************************************************************************

go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 3 make sure BF3 is NAMED BF3.exe if it is called bf3.exe_DiP_STAGED remove the _DIP_STAGED part then try the game if that doesnt work try the repair tool after you remove the _DiP_STAGED

    Manually Uninstalling Origin
    Updated:  6/28/2011

To manually uninstall Origin, you will need to edit your system registry and remove the folders in a two-part process. This will remove all traces of Origin from your system.

NOTE: If you remove Origin, you will lose accessibility and playability to any downloaded games and manuals until you reinstall Origin.

Remember that editing your computer's registry or files incorrectly can severely damage your operating system. We recommend having a computer professional perform these steps. If you are confident, however, that you can edit your registry successfully, then please follow the instructions below carefully.

    Remove the Origin program files:

    1. From the Start menu, select Computer.
    2. Select the hard drive; by default, Origin is installed on the C: drive.
    3. Select the Program Files folder; on 64bit systems, this will be called Program Files (x86).
    4. Right-click the Origin folder and select Delete.
    Backup the Windows registry:
    1. Hold down the Windows key and press R.
    2. At the Run command, type regedit and select OK.
    3. Select File, then Export.
    4. Under Export Range, select All.
    5. Choose a location and name for the backup file, then select Save.
    Remove the Origin registry keys:
    1. Expand the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE folder.
    2. Expand the SOFTWARE folder.
On 64bit systems, expand the Wow6432node folder.
    3. Right-click the Origin folder and select Delete.
    4. Expand the Microsoft folder.
    5. Expand the Windows folder.
    6. Expand the CurrentVersion folder.
    7. Expand the Uninstall folder.
    8. Right-click the Origin folder and select Delete.
    Remove the Origin program cache:
    1. From the Start menu, select Computer.
    2. Select the C: drive.
    3. Select the ProgramData folder.  If this folder does not appear, press Alt, select Tools, then Folder Options.  Select the View tab, then check Show hidden files, folders, and drives.
    4. Right-click the Origin folder and select Delete.
Origin has now been completely removed from your system.

FYI - Possible Fix for some with 64-bit Win7 and new BF3 Patch***

My brother recently downloaded the patch and he would play perfectly fine before, and now it freezes every time he tried to load a game (loading black screen) then takes him back to the battlelog.

    FIX:

I just disabled UPnP in the setting for his router and it worked immediately after that.

So for those with mostly Linksys routers.
    Open up your internet browser
    type 192.168.1.1

username: (default username is left blank)
    password: (default pw is admin)

    Administration tab> Disable UPnP
    Save.

Was already disabled so not a issue

Stuck on Joining Server / Long map load times:

    Cause: Bug with x64 OS
    press start write Run regedit.

go to: HKEY LOCAL MACHINE/SOFTWARE/WoW6432Node/EA Games

Change the GDFBinary & InstallDir paths to Crogram Files (x86)Origin GamesBattlefield 3

    Path was already fine
    ***************************************************************************************************************************************************************

Problem solved, i just uncheck read only on battlefield 3 folder

Disable UPnP if you're on a router.

Do you have the game fully installed before trying to update?

If you're installing from disc, disconnect the internet & then install fully. Reconnect the internet before running.

In Origin Settings menu, Enable Beta opt-in, Disable Auto Updates.
