Re: Specialist and freeclass system is Better than the OLD Class system VIDEO inside

@VME23Seeing how the majority of the community want classes/browser/the way it was when they didn't try to reinvent the wheel for subversive monetary gain. I would submit that they should make the main game applicable/palatable to the larger section of their community (which is not the pro-specialist community). But that's just business 101 which EA has yet to figure out.

Yes, I agree with you. At the end of the day it's business and those numbers are important to EA/DICE (not to me).

I know that the community, unfortunately the larger part of it, will decide the fate of this game even if I don't like that.

I cannot do anything to it, rather than keep playing more and more Battlefield titles, like I always do for the last 13 years.

While I was writing this post I've observed that LevelCap released a new 'controversial' video. Strangely, he's not following the hate trends.

  • @VME23 I think you missed the point of the video. It was to tell people that he wasn't paid by EA/DICE to keep playing BF2042 and that people shouldn't hound/sling hate to youtubers who choose to spend their time playing it. He also fully acknowledges the plethora of problems that the game has and he even goes so far as to say that the specialist system is meh at best (cherry cola [specialists] / normal cola [classes]....and he prefers normal cola). He's enjoying it for what it is (a variation) but also has videos discussing the numerous missteps of EA/DICE. So it really wasn't so much a defense of the game as it was an explanation/defense of his choice to play it.

Nope, I didn't miss the point. Why do you think ppl said that he's been sponsored by EA? Yes, that's correct - because he was having fun playing it with all of the flaws it has in its current state - something that the vocal part of this community cannot understand - maybe it's about different generations, how they've been raised by their parents, culture, who knows?!

The vocal part of this community is throwing hate at everyone who's playing and enjoying this game, basically if you say that you're having fun in this game you'll instantly be crucified.

If you read my previous posts on this thread I've said the same things about this game and unsurprisingly I share the same opinion as he - with a minor exception regarding the cherry cola aka specialist system.

You cannot release a video praising all the goods in it and leave the negatives apart / unspoken, because the viewers will bash you hardly - that's why his tone was on the negative side even if he was speaking about positives. He's a smart guy and knows how to address a concern to the public.

  • @VME23Fair enough, but I would disagree to an extent. A "fully positive" video would give a inaccurate impression of any game with the issues that BF2042 has. It can be as simple as a opening line of "While this game has issues, I would like to talk about the stuff I do like." This in my opinion is nearly required in order to provide some form of "balance" to any video discussing any videogame (that has rampant problems). It would be disingenuous to simply post a video saying "I'm having a great time with this game (bf2042 or not)" without some form of caveat so as to not give the wrong impression of the game's status. This gives him the wiggle room to discuss what he likes without excusing EA/DICE's release (in the eyes of his viewers) which could embolden EA/DICE as they think they've "turned a corner."

If say this game released as good as Ghost of Tsushima or Demon's Souls remake, then you might have a point as far as a "only positive stuff videos" goes.

Scoring is on point tho. Another reason why players kept getting angry cause none of these scores are true.

Forget about specialists for a while. Please explain to me then why such obvious design choices were not present in past battlefields.

Every weapon and explosive is available for each player right now in 2042. Why we have not been witnessing this revolutionary idea before. For ideological reasons, I don`t think so. More or like the entire Conquest was built around classes and their weaponry and abilities. Dismantling classes lead to complete chaos and lack of any balance in Conquest in 2042, only meta and ego-centric builds prevail in my biased opinion. The specialist with ego-centric gadgets, all explosives, and guns at disposal will only further undermine the idea(ls) of Conquest, in-game balance, and the concept of teamwork.

The specialist idea does not provide any additional net value into the Conquest formula with classes, quite the contrary. Most specialists and their abilities are grounded in Squad vs Squad scenario in other games. Not 32/64 Team vs Team scenario.

Classes as a gold standard in Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush.

Free for all - your own build system with any weapon at disposal, no explosives, additional med, ammo, or armor but slower movement to choose from as additional perk in Infantry-based TDM, SQTDM, DOMINATION, GUN MASTER, CHAINLINK, etc. So basically pure gunplay and skill are involved.

Specialists rightfully belong in Battle Royale or 5vs5 highly competitive game modes.

This is what I think after 25+ years of my experience in gaming, not only playing but running communities, modding servers and games, and so on.

Lol. Who buys a product based on some unknown media outlet reviews these days?

I'm starting to question the IQ of those ppl who do that.

Play the demo / beta, make your own opinion and then decide if the game is worth playing or not - it's simple, vote with your wallet not with what X, Y or Z says.

@VME23Doesn't matter, it's guidance and confidence improvisation on market and people do follow when seeking information about game but that's just shortcut. But it's a lie.
