- @emerson1975 I've been running AHK for years on the background (it's always ran as it's also in startup) but never interacts with any of my games. It's just for skipping, pausing songs.
So as long as it doesn't interact with games, you should be safe. Apex is also an EA game + uses Easy Anti Cheat and never banned there.
Or it could be DICE's implementation that picks up AHK no matter what.. though I doubt it. I still believe it has something to do with GHUB, iCUE @thegoodcharlesI just emailed support asking them again if it could be the AHK and why I was using it. Even put a link into it that shows I created a thread in the Bugs section a MONTH ago about the problem.
- @thegoodcharles AHK can easily used as a cheat manipulation with use of scripts.
AHK has been used with battlefield games in the past and that’s probably why dice have deemed it fit to flag the program.
The tos specifically mentions 3rd party programs so use at your own risk It’s almost like you can’t use autohotkey to manipulate gun recoil is it…..oh hold on!
On what planet do these people think that it’s ok to use this!
It shows how poor the previous anti cheats have been
- @emerson1975 Well the same can be asked about a game in the year 2021 where two typical keys that are used for movement or hard coded to other movement keys. And the screwed up thing is that if you look in the settings there's actually two settings for look left and look right but even unbinding them to anything those two arrow keys for left and right are still hard coded to look left and look right.
- @-NME-M0710NM4N Look am sure you didn’t use autohotkey to cheat but many many do and think it’s ok because it’s a very well known 3rd party program.
I also understand the controls aren’t perfect but no game has perfect anything but it is in the games tos about using 3rd party software.
You are not the only one that’s got banned for this but are the only one honest enough to admit it so I commend you for that @emerson1975I’m sorry, I know I wrote before that I wouldn’t post anymore but your comments are beyond stupid.
Banning AHK is like banning javascript. Or like banning .net or like banning html. You can’t just ban a language. It’s like saying “you cannot have a C# or C++ editor installed because you can create cheats with them”. AHK is literally C++ in scriptform.
Jesus Christ, just ban computers then cuz they can create cheats.
This guy sits here all day and spams utter nonsense, contributing nothing useful. If you don’t have an issue emerson, please do the rest of us a favour and stop posting.edit: Just read some more nonsense. How can you possibly sit there and actively tell people that “you shouldn’t use ghub” and so on. Sure you can do fancy things with all peripherals nowadays, but if it is the case that we’re getting banned for having changed a hotkey in ghub (which I haven’t) don’t you see what a colossal screw up that is?
It’s one thing if you believe we’re all running elaborate hacks, but don’t defend EA for banning us for completely standard software that a good fraction of gamers have installed. Both AHK and ghub are completely reasonable programs to have installed on your pc, and if EA is banning us for those, it is a scandal.
@emerson1975 I've to agree with all the others. Only that a program has the abillity to create macros does not mean that someone is using it. And therefore it's not banable. Also assigning keystrokes to extra buttons on the mouse shouldn't be a banable offense, especially if the GHub software in my case is officially supported and recomended by EA/Dice on BF2042.
Also I'm using the same computer and the same setup with the same background tasks also in the following EAC protected Games: Hunt, War Thunder, Division 2 and Ghost Recon Wildlands. Never were flagged and banned in one of those games. Not for GHub, not for my RGB Software or any other I'm running.
I've digged now more into EAC. At first one of my speculations that also killing bots in Solo could have been the cause as there are several points on different maps where Bots could be safely taken out from a distance without getting killed as the bots at these points are more focussed on killing other bots. I first thought this might have been considered boosting or exploiting.
But reading through the DEV-manuals of EAC how to implement and what to be aware off I can definitely say that this is not the cause of an EAC-ban... (At least if it was EAC which banned me)... EAC is not able to detect exploits and ban therefore. Regarding the EAC documentation those kind of things needs to be manual monitored by the Devs itself.
The following is directly out of the EAC Dev Manual:
Game Exploits
Game logic errors, bugs, or edge cases are often discovered and exploited by players. However, anti-cheat understands the game code to be working as written and cannot solve these issues. As the game developer, you must fix these problems as you continue to develop and new exploits are discovered.
Also it is stated in the docs that EAC could mabye not work as intended and produce false positives if it's not implemented in the way it should. I've seen the page but need to find it again before I couldd copy & paste it in here.
So this is at the moment my best guess. Dice or any other studio involved into 2042 must have screwed it up at some point.
But in the end I can't really tell you what happened as EA/Dice is not giving any information about the cause of a ban... If it was EAC or a manual one or for foul language in Chat or, or, or...
I got now a conversation running with a real human from EA tech support about giving me all the related data in this matter as GDPR in Europe makes it mandatory for them to do so. Will hopefully soon find out what the ban is about and then I know better how to action.
- @QU4NT0R How was your way with the GDRP thing? What Support Option did i have to chose?
- @Mykiz I've used the following support options for filling a case regarding the GDPR: Data Privacy - Request my Data
https://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/new/?product=origin&platform=pc&category=data-privacy&issue=request-my-data @QU4NT0R I just created a case using your link. I am hoping that this "data" isn't identical to the "data" you can download in the account section on the EA website, because it doesn't tell you anything about the ban.
- @dabbitydabdab It's a real shame that the US doesn't have something like the gdpr. We have the freedom of information act but it's pretty much useless when it comes to things like this which is kind of sad and pathetic.
I've talked to phone support again this morning just a little while ago and they're going to try yet again to have them look at my case but I'm not holding my breath because it's seems like it's pretty much a pointless endeavor.
I'm planning on doing my charge back today with the bank but I'm hoping I can stay up long enough so that EA's corporate offices in redwood California will open and that maybe I can get through to somebody or anybody that'll listen to me. Again I'm not going to hold my breath. - @dabbitydabdab At first a tech representative will answer you on that, providing you with links and procedures where you can find what data online about you. This includes also the link to the json-file.
I then told them that this isn't all data about me as my account was banned for "so called" cheating without giving me a concrete reason or explanation what I've done in their eye....
Accusations must be based on Data from EAC. I've requested this specific data involved in the whole process. Also this data is for sure not only used by EA internally. EAC is an API from Epic and regarding the EAC Dev-documentation this data is processed on specific EAC-servers which are operated by EAC (EPIC). I assume that these servers are not based in the same country as the EA-Game-Servers. So they've given out Data from me to a 3rd party, most likely a 3rd party operating outside of Europe. If that is the case than they've to inform you also about all data which was processed on not their own systems.
Just ask them about the specific data which was involved in your ban.
At least you get a direct communication with a real representative, not sending out Bot-eMails, whom you can explain your case and concerns. Also this is a representative from their Data Security Team and not some low level tech support representative based in india who only knows about copy & paste. They've to take it serious and will follow up. - @QU4NT0R Sorry disagree , I think tos is from India as per a name associated with my appeals it cut paste you hacked? Never have I done so
If a US-based website collects and processes personal data on individuals inside the EU, they are required to comply with the GDPR.
Knock yourself out! 😉
