Battlefield 2042 PC 25-50 FPS, Refunded for Xbox Series X 120hz 60fps

Good morning, I only regret not trying this sooner and felt a need to post to help others. I have I9900k, 3070 super, Gsync chip in monitor, 300 series MB, 16gb of ram, on a msi trident x, 1080p 360hz monitor windows 11 fully optimized, all settings low, dlss performance off or on didn't matter,  in game fov setting of 68-85 like I have seen posted by others. I was getting drops between 25-50 fps and micro stuttering every game and more on the harder to run maps Discarded and Renewal. So as you can see I am getting terrible performance on my pc, I agree its pretty dated as far as pc is concerned so I understand. With that being said I refunded my pc version and switched to Xbox Series X. Just for anyone info any monitor based fps counter will only show 120fps which is inaccurate because on console it take the fps from the refresh rate. I tried tested this on my LG C1 and 360hz monitor fps counter. Both show 120fps at 1080p and 4k which is the refresh rate.

  • Yes, the optimization of this game sucks. Hope it fix it. But, in XSX, it doesnt run at 120 fps. Run at 60.

@Exhore I know that's what people are saying but my monitor frame rate graph says 120.

@ginjabrad Yes, your monitor says its 120 hz, but the game runs at 60 fps. It only will screen in your monitor 60 hz refresh rate.

@Exhore so your saying monitor fps counters on my monitor are showing 120hz as my fps. Shouldn't it show me my framerate regardless of my refresh rate? Wouldn't that make more sense design wise? I reached out to digital foundry, ea, and Asus support for more information.

Also, just loaded up warzone where even series x struggles to hold 120 at 1080p and what do you know its showing 90 fps on my monitor fps counter. Does that not prove that it's working to show my fps now my refresh rate? Just trying to get some definitive answers.

I have updated this post with my new understanding on how consoles and t.v / monitor fps counters are inaccurate and display refresh rate as fps. I'm guessing it just assumes it's the same thing which we know is wrong.
