Low CPU FPS? What?

So today I got out of work early and I’ve been messing around with BF2042 trying to figure out why it’s not working well on my PC.

So I turned on the overlay for FPS

3 out of the 4 stayed green. But the CPU stayed red. It said I was getting 18-26 FPS in my CPU.

I haven’t changed anything on my PC other than upgrading my video driver to the current one. I tried to roll it back but it still didn’t help.

I have an i5 10040F

RTX 2060

32 GBs of Ram.

what the hell is CPU FPS and how can I fix it? The game was running fine two weeks ago. I thought my video card might be busting but even Cyber Punk ran really well.

@GrizzGolf you got some launchers and other software running in the background
UBI SOFT , STEAM , EA APP , ROCK STAR and maybe a lot more you should not run when its not needed for better performance (lower cpu % and temp, lower gpu % and temp !!!)
Cleanboot and run only the game platform thats needed to run BF2042 and test again 😉

@GrizzGolfwhat are the settings in the game? What are the processor frequencies and its load in the game?

I have everything set to low and off.   How do I find out the frequencies and load times?

  • you can download Realtemp for temp monitoring and clocks

For your CPU use the RealtempGT.exe as otherwise it will only monitor 4 processor cores...

You have to push on settings  ---> tick Log File ---> log file will saved be in the Realtemp folder

Hi @GrizzGolf, yeah the game maxing out the CPU would be result to low FPS.

As @Rokebo73, reduce the amount of programs running in the background.
