test it with the ammount of cores, depends on cpu, some could use a higher number others need to lower that number !!!

  • Hi, tested it out with the cfg file from the video. It fixes the issues of TN and cft or any connection lag. Despite of that, im losing around 40fps, ive set the max core setting to 5 (in the video it stated to not use max core), if i remember it correctly, if i set the value to 4 its even worse. But i guess, if they are working on the fix and it soon comes out, that´ll be great,

people with a crashing 4090 should lower there oc for 100 a 200, there is a youtube movie with explanation !

  • The game is broken for my part again

TN to 20+ and just a lag * show

some servers are better but most just suck

Yesterday 64vs64 was available in the game selection menu

today that game option is gone and replaced with Spearhead 24/7

compared to yesterday the servers have severe lag issues again

my pc is the same, the network is the same

I tried to reset router, checked latency and bufferbloat which shows 12-15ms to Zurich and no bufferbloat, which is same as always

I also experiance slow down in game movement, a lot of lag and stuttering if an enemy player shoots at me from afar

so this seems to be an issue with sync between server and client, where server position is forced upon client and causes lag and stuttering.

if the God dame servers aren’t up for 128 player you have to scale down

this game is just unplayable with the current lag situation

  • I’ll check

Im running a 5950x which is tuned along with 3800cl14  memory so I would think the cpu should be sufficient

    I’ll check usage

But again lag differs much between server to server eventhough latency is more or less the same

TN differs though, good servers and acceptable performance seems to be when TN is in 4-10ms range, whem TN is +16 it seems lag is in the several hundres of ms range

And yesterday the gameplay/latency seemed more or less fine

So.... latest patch has dropped today and guess what, no change in the micro stutter, mini pauses etc etc..

This game just doesnt run smooth...

Game still borked and i suspect never to be fixed in this regard.

    I did a little check / investigation !
It seems our Dev's locked cpu cores ammount to a minimum of 8.
User file still works , but you cannot go below the minimum of 8 cores anymore!
Maybe the try to keep a minimum of performance for systems that are not in the "low end"!

    I did also try the Render.ForceDx11 1
But this will crash BF2042 (probarly works only for consoles !)
    BF2042 is made in/for dx12 at PC!

    Also did the command: RenderDevice.UseReserverdJobThreads
But also this did not change in ammount of cpu cores !

Im still hunting for any solution, while you guys could of course report this , so they activate core ammount settings again 😉

    Cheers.

Started another thread before finding this one, so may as well double up: Since the other threads keep getting closed (one went 104 pages!), I assure you its still a thing. With a ping of 27m/s, and watching the TN hover around 11, then shoot up to over 300 while my game jutters / lags like mad with the TN spike, its unplayable. I have to ride it out. Fiber optic internet, hard wired to my office shows 179 mbs up and down, and a ping of 9 to the closest Telus server. Ryzen 5800X, ROG 3060ti, 32GB Trident Silver RAM (3600 MHz, unlocked in BIOS), Aorus B550 mobo. Since it affects cross platform, my rig shouldn't matter. Anyone tell me how this is my issue? And why EA keeps saying its all fixed?

  • @Rokebo73 Wow, the change with the User.cfg actually fixed the massive stuttering and the constant freezes... Don't know why we have to do something like this in order to get the game running normally again. Tried everything else before like deleteing cache files, all driver overlays disabled... No change. I reverted everything and now tried these 3 settings with the User.cfg - game runs normally again.

    Dice... Fix this.
