Re: 30mm from Bolte does less damage to infantry than 9mm from firearm.

The game as a whole is completely unbalanced. Just like how all 30mm cannons on all vehicles and jets/choppers don't do the same damage, which doesn't make any sense. It's a 30mm cannon!! They should have the same damage as any other 30mm cannon on any vehicle!!

Just seems like they're (EA Dice) nerfing everything which causes more balance issues. Even tank shells are probably gonna be nerfed at some point somehow because some player will complain about getting killed instantly by them. Just like how the 57mm cannon on the wildcat got nerfed, which was a dumb decision.

  • Had a run with my recon equipped with 30mm cannon today and I have to agree with the op in that it is rather weird that it takes several direct hits with such a gun to get a kill. I also agree that the bolte was absolutely op before the nerf and I still frequently find myself cursing the vehicle for being toxic as I get killed by it. It is far to many of them. It’s supposed to be transport, not tank. Keep the guns, but remove the armor and put in some passenger seats like the recon has. Or just classify it as a tank.

  • @Arfan76 It makes absolute sense when you consider that this is a game. For example, a 30mm on a jet fires at around 700RPM and is carried by the fastest vehicle in the game. It therefore has to be adjusted around those facts.

Re: Tank Shells. STAFF and MPAT are pretty well balanced but HEAT needs a boost in damage to make it equal to MPAT against all vehicles except the MBT and MAV.

The 57mm was absolutely in need of adjustment - statistically it totally outclassed the 40mm and there was no reason to use it instead. Combined with the Anti tank missile you had a ridiculously overpowered platform that could dominate virtually any tank save for one using STAFF on an open field map. It was also superb against infantry too - truly a weapon with no drawbacks.

And while the 57mm did take a big drop in splash damage it actually got a boost to its direct damage when the bug preventing splash damage from being delivered on direct hits was fixed in update two. This makes it so its a OHK against everyone but Dozer with a direct hit.

ALL of the vehicle balance changes so far have been deserved and have been pretty measured in terms of execution. Doesn't mean that will be the case moving forward but at least so far I can say I'm happy with what I've seen.
