I'm dual booting Linux and Windows.
I am not going to waste time with enabling secure boot just because of some random game.
I can no longer access the game I paid for because of this artificial requirement of "secure boot" being enabled.
I want a refund of the original purchase price.
Chatting with support is not possible.
Contacting support by other means is not possible.
I want my money back!

You'd need to contact EA Help to request a refund as it's not possible to do here at all, as nobody here can access your account for security reasons. You should be able to reach them by going to help.ea.com, selecting the game, and then choosing the "I want a refund" option (that gave me a chat just now).
However, if you're outside the refund policy then EA Help might not be able to issue one. It's still worth trying, though, but I'd suggest keeping that in mind.
UEFI Secure Boot is a security feature that verifies the authenticity of software loaded during the boot process, preventing the execution of unsigned or untrusted code. It's supported by most modern Linux distributions and can be enabled or disabled in the system's UEFI settings. As long as you have a pukka OS(s) it shouldn't be a problem.
My machine is multi-boot, no issues for me.
Keep in mind that Windows 10 is phasing out and 11 requires Secure Boot. Games on the OS will likely have more requirements for parity ESPECIALLY any Microsoft owned titles.
Good luck with the refund but I'd start planning ahead on this dude. If you're a dual boot guy you of all people should know changing requirements and such is just part of the deal we make being on PC.
I know what Secure Boot is. I'm dual booting Linux and Windows. I will not go through the trouble of maintaining Secure Boot for both OSs.
I will not "upgrade" rather downgrade to Windows 11 either. It's spyware galore, even more than Windows 10, and the taskbar is worse.
I like my drives easily accessible on the taskbar, no longer possible in Windows 11.
Also, it's not true that Windows 11 requires Secure Boot, because I already had it and removed it again in favor of Windows 10.
If they won't refund it, I'll create a case with the EU dispute platform.
Look man my bit is that if games change over time and hardware requirements follow suit, so would software have to do so as well.
If you JUST got the game I imagine the refund would maybe work, but if you've been like a day one player then best of luck cause youve gotten the experience the game has to offer and making your system compliant seems doable. I was able to find some threads on how to make a dual linux/windows rig work this way so whatever distro you have it's more than likely just as easy as a few google searches.
Again this is just the nature of PC gaming. Things change and we end up making our own Ships of Theseus to keep on going.
This whole thing seems self-inflicted. Nobody here can help with this so your best bet is to contact EA help or enable secure boot.
You're forgetting that you can add another kernel key in the Secure Boot DB, it's not made to prevent dangerous kernels from loading, but unwanted ones, if the key of a malicious kernel is stored in the SB DB it won't have any problem booting it up
Thats why i dont buy AAA games at full price, you guys should do the same and wait for a steam sale or something.
