Re: Game feels very good now but please do something with the cheaters!

If anything I feel having a ping counter on the board would give at least some clues to suspicious moments. But still, some things really are too frequently suspect. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense if one person seemingly has the most perfect netcode to rack up dozens of kills in no time while others are all gradually racking them up, and then they do that in multiple rounds back to back with all of the variables and changing players of varying skill and experience.

Every FPS dismissing cheaters. The real indicator of why I feel that cheaters are now on BF2042 is because as soon as they had the free weekend and the game was a little better now you have these low-ranking players going on a rampage in servers. I know some people are good but the same people in the game killing me as soon as I get out of cover is a bit too much. Also if you play enough you know when it is the netcode that is making you die. Ever since the update I have been ALT F$ out of most matches because of the combination of cheaters, bad net code and the god-tier auto-aim for the controller. Most of the time if I am beamed by a sniper it is a console player.

I play on PS5, have about 1400 hours in the game (all with crossplay), and until last night I've not noticed a single obvious hacker.  That changed last night, where a dude (spoofing a Twitch streamer that I'm familiar with) was headshotting everyone in the server with an Avancys.   I feel like I've lost my innocence.

  • @hollamf I turned crossplay off. Sure, it can make it harder to find matches, but I was so tired of being auto-beamed by (mostly) XBox players.

Unfortunately, many suspect players I've seen in the game since launch seem to be doing the same because they started reappearing in PC only matches. They're like rank S300-400 +. One of them, who I haven't seen for a while, is rank S700+. Two months ago they were rank S500+. They would join a match and just completely ruin the experience and instantly be up at the top. How on Earth they haven't been booted yet I really don't understand. Used to be a player from Kuwait in BFV matches who had like 5000 hours in a plane (somehow; it was a ridiculous amount of time) who would utterly spoil the games and everyone would just leave because it was pointless. You couldn't take them out with anything, and their aircraft seemed to perform 180 flips and teleport (other players mentioned that as well), in addition to delivering much higher damage per shot.

The bit that always gives it away for me is their KD ratio being so high on the kills and so low on the deaths every time. I can have matches where I get a nice KDR, but on bad days it can be near equal. These players never have a bad day, no matter their team, or who they're playing against. Its this consistency of always having a super score that suggests something is very much off with them, especially when you have highly contended infantry fighting and somehow they never get shot or located, and just run around instantly taking everyone out.

Just last night there was a player surviving near direct hits from a rocket on three occasions, and when you shot at them on less than 10hp, not a single bullet would connect with them even standing still. They were also looking in a different direction when I was parachuting down directly above them, and then instantly snapped to look straight up at me and take my head off at over 300m. Considering I've been killed by rockets detonating nowhere near me (similar for C5, I've somehow killed myself and not an enemy despite the enemy standing closer to it), there's definitely something they are using.

  • Alright. I just want to gauge what people think is cheating. Here's a "sus" clip. Does it look like cheating?

@cope_more No it is Little bird and that one has been made crazy by Dice. Needs nerfing - agile, fast flare reload, fast gun and rockets reload and has zero problems dodging stingers and what else. It also take way too much armor piercing rounds to just get to smoke. That is one wrong bird in the sky !

You know this phrase has been said after every new title ,this game does not have cheaters ,perhaps a few but not like the last one .This will be repeated the next title again and the next one after that. It becomes comical when the cheaters are indirectly portrayed as so honest that they always leave the existing BF alone and always choose to play elsewhere until the next title comes out.

  • @SpoolaZ This game, like all BF games, absolutely has cheaters. I've just played matches against one who has appeared in multiple games in recent days and its highly evident they are using an aimbot and a wallhack. They were winning mass firefights with a crossbow and a throwing knife and perfectly ambushing people. A lot of other people in the chat came to the same conclusion that they were cheating as well. The old type of cheaters who would stand in one spot and make it ridiculously obvious are rare now, I've only seen two in my time in 2042, but its rather obvious low level or stealth cheating is quite widespread. There are certainly a lot of very questionable low rank players who seem to have perfect aim and frequently end up topping servers with KD ratios that don't add up for someone who apparently hasn't been in the game very long. I remember a rank 14 who was just popping off head after head with a sniper rifle within 50m and was literally impossible to kill, even by groups of players with assault rifles and MGs. You simply couldn't damage him enough to kill him before your head came off.

Then you have some who are literally rising hundreds of ranks within a month.

  • @Moab23 the majority of players believe cheaters do not exist because we live in a time where all these streamers and content creators make it seem easy to play these games. If you do not have laser beam aim without being able to compensate for recoil then you just need to get good. Most of us who are calling these silent cheaters out are players who have been playing since launch and can tell the shift in this game as soon as it became more popular. I do account for the bad net code and other bugs but getting beamed 200m with an SFAR all head shots when I pop out of cover for a sec is not legit or the ungodly aim-assist abuse by console players hitting 300-400 meter headshots back to back

It's comical when someone says there's no cheaters in the games they play and cheating only happens in other games.

Defo a bunch of cheaters in that last game. Ziplined to the top of the mountain in Exposure, see an enemy running left to right about 50m away. Bear in mind the zipline leaves you half covered at the top. Sighted on them. Instantly they turn and fire and take my head off. Nothing gave me away, they just instantly locked on. Low rank player as well. Another low rank player was shot from behind and did an automatic 180 turn to blow my head off with one shot. Then the top player of the enemy team was blatantly wallhacking as they would instantly run to your exact position every single time without any gadgets or abilities active (it was a Zain), to then one hit kill you.

EDIT: More today. Low rank. Instakilled four times in a row by a rank four who kept being the one to take me out when fighting a group (of course as soon as you get the drop on these people, your team finally does something and kills them to steal the kill). Next up was a rank 28 - who was literally invisible - to fire a rocket at my vehicle, then sustained ridiculous amounts of damage without dying. Respawned, instantly killed by them again with no line of sight.

  • Even more. Low rank, some in the S rank. But generally beneath rank 20. Players with perfect aim, who inexplicably in hardcore Rush can instantly locate you without a minimap or any spotting gadgets/abilities, whilst you are using a suppressed weapon. Rank 16 is just tearing through players and bots alike (whilst the bots are laser beaming us). S rank player was firing NVK slug rounds for one hit kills at any and all ranges, and didn't miss under any circumstance. I tested it myself, and shot an enemy closer than they had been, took two hits with the slug. They, meanwhile, are landing one hit kills at three times the distance on full health players with body shots. The cheating is getting out of control.

  • @Moab23 I also believe they have a speed hack with cheats now because there are players zipping through the map like they have roller skates and doing erratic strafing but still accurate.
