On Board Sound so no sound card to update. Will look into the motherboard but since this is a new build would updating the motherboard really solve the issue?
And thanks for the help. I appreciate it alot.

Updated BIOS for motherboard, tried different compatibility modes including troubleshoot compatibility and still the same issues as before. Get sound through fine, no video though.

Even onboard audio on the motherboard will still have audio drivers. I'm not talking about a BIOS update, just one of the various drivers that are probably on the CD that came with your motherboard. Well, the drivers on those CDs are often outdated. Learned that the hard way when I bought a new PC :-\
Given the fact the sound works, though, I'd rather think you'd need to update your video drivers.

Ah, right. Makes more sense.
I'm wary of updating graphics card drivers given there usually a hit and miss affair in regards to stability. Will give it a go anyway, can always roll back if I get any problems Will reply back with an update in a bit.
