Re: Missing merchant in Skyhold

Seggrit shows up in Skyhold and roams around (not as a merchant) if and only if you save him during the Haven evacuation.

You get two new merchants: Bonny Simms and the guy at the stand next to her.

A third merchant, opposite from Bonny Simms will sell items that give power + inquisition rep. He is dependent on a war table mission i think.

A fourth, bugged merchant near aforementioned power/rep vendor has no stall or npc, just a buy/sell prompt - I'm not sure what triggers this one to appear, or if he was there from the start. Might be dependent on Bonny Simms' trade route war table mission.

Thanks for that info.....however....on page 201 of the Prima strategy guide it lists Seggrit as a merchabe in Skyhold.......and it actually shows 5 merchant shops in the area you mentioned ( Bonny Sim's, etc) and I only have 3 in that area.....He is suppose to sell Siege'e End 21,433 and Tenasarin 11,110........so.......maybe Seggrit never made it out of Haven or there's a glitch in the game.

  • The prima guide is outdated then. Siege's end and Tenasarin are sold by the unnamed NPC near Bonny Simms, though they're high level weapons (21 and 19 respectively) and may be dependent on finishing story missions.

All the NPCs you save in Haven no longer serve the same function in Skyhold, they just roam around and have a few lines of dialogue when you interact with them.

OK....thanks for that info.........I've walked aeound the whole area near Bonny Simm's but haven't found that NPC Seggrit.......I'll look somemore..BTW....is an upgrade of the courtyard necessary to find him?........I updated the tower already (but didn't notice any difference after doing that)

  • Can't say. I don't have a save before I finished all three upgrades. What I do remember is that the merchant near Bonny Simms was there before I finished the ball mission, after I finished Adamant. I've no idea what triggers his appearance. And the NPC that sells those two weapons isn't Seggrit. It's an unnamed NPC that you can't interact with (only with his stall). Seggrit shows up in random parts of Skyhold and doesn't sell anything.

    Have some screenshots:

He won't show if you didn't rescue him from haven. When the dragon first attacks use bull or Cass to break the door by the blacksmith, then when you get inside rescue the people on the right, use a warrior to break the door to the house on the left run inside press a to save the person there. Also 1 person in the inn and 2 by the potions master, last one is where leliana usually is. If you save them the guy will be there. Pretty sure he's the one you save when you first enter the door on the right but not 100% I always save them all.

I am not entirely sure about this, but I would imagine that the merchants are level dependant. I also think some of them only appear if you finish some missions at the War Table.

Farris the Representative (opposite Bonnie Sims) who sells influence amongst trade companies definetely only shows up if you do a War Table quest. It is probably also one of those who takes a long time to finish.
Some of his wares cost you a fortune. But he is wort it. In return you also get Inquisition Points to spend at the War Table, which is quite handy to say at least.

The War Table is the center for extra goodies and oppotunities.

That's the one on the opposite side of the road. The other vendor is what he needs and he has to do what I meantioned above

I know which one you refer to now.
It is the merchant who appears before Bonnie Simms? The very first merchant.

Phew... I don't remember if he vanishes after Bonnie Simms arrives?

If all merchants were present at the same time there would be four in total. But I don't know if that is possible?
I only have three merchants in my game. But I do remember this very first merchant. I don't think he is there anymore.

  • If you really want to see Seggritt he could be in a number of areas in Skyhold, not just the merchant area. Same with Minaeve and Adan. I've found them in the Garden, the courtyard (outside the tavern), the merchant area and around the Surgeon tents. The first time you meet them they will mention your rescue, but then never say anything but a short greeting after that. They are definitely no longer merchants.

I think Bonnie Sims even discusses that she is Seggritt's replacement when you first talk to her, because the position actually has some "importance" now.
