Re: voice audio bug

go into the game and check to see what option is selected for sound.  If you have it set to something that uses a center speaker but your system doesn't have one, then sounds like voices may not be heard, or only be VERY soft.  Try headphones or something like that...

    Try to repair your game...

Also do into control panel >>programs>>programs and Features and find it on the list there..

if it says 1.0.0.6 then it is up to date..if it says something else, then it isn't

I just loaded up the game and music is fine nothing wrong there, but i still don't hear my characters voice at all.
i just spoke to varric and heard his voice just fine so its just mine as far as i can tell.
i have a logitech brand speakers with a sub woofer nothing too expensive but sounds good.

i think i mentioned i went through all the game sound settings and it all had the same result.
its too bad i can't get a copy of this for my ps4 since it looks like the game won't work right and its going to drive me nuts because i've tried everything i can think of to fix it and the patch didn't do anything to help. :-/

The audio options don't have an effect until you restart the game. If you have a stereo setup, set dynamic range to headphones and restart the game.

  • ok i tried headphones and i can hear my characters voice.

and then switched it back to stereo and i can finally hear my characters voice.

thanks a lot its weird i never thought of changing the audio and exit the game and restart it  (stupid me)

my other little issue is in the middle of my 2nd play through besides the voice bug my difficulty was changed from nightmare to normal losing any chance of getting the nightmare achievement so gonna start over.
