Re: Star Wars Jedi fallen order Steam-EA App failed

I got the game to run in an straightforward way.

1st go here:

In the Win64 directory are two executable files.

When I launch via "starwarsjedifallenorder.exe" I get the error message "You do not have acess. This titile may have been downloaded to your device by another user who owns the game. Log in to a different account or restart the app to try again."  (I bought via Steam at launch day and I already have 32h with the game. But I haven't tried to start it for over 2 years. Present day: When launched via the steam library I get the EA App message "Failed to launch due to error on our side...")

But when you start via the file "SwGame-Win64-Shipping.exe" it works.

  • Wow, this is the ONLY way I've seen that works. I had the exact same problem as you, thanks so much for posting an answer that actually worked for me. EA needs to fix their broken software.

  • @Kondaxi was also able to launch the game with "SwGame-Win64-Shipping.exe" but with "SwGame-Win64-Shipping.exe" the dialogue sound wasn't working. Are your dialogue working ?

  • yes the sound of the dialogue work fine. I am not sure about the steam achievements.

Yes, now EA just needs to fix their app. Before that I do not buy EA games anymore, in particular not from their app.

  • Thank you. But this link installing EA App again.

Just found old Origin setup and used it. Works for me. Also, all achievements were linked to my steam.

  • @Kondax 2) doesn´t work. EA * updating to 12.85.0 after start.
The only Hope atm playing is SwGame-Win64-Shipping.exe

    for STEAM PC
"I think i got it guys!
    1. To be sure uninstall everything (i used revo uninstaller to clean uninstall all junk)
    2. Restart pc
    3. Install any origin
    4. Change date in your windows ( i put 9 january)
    5. open origin login and do everything ( it shouldn't pop the ducking EA horsedung app notif)
    6. Then if you want to play games on steam go to game directory to delete 3 files😞
    5.1 cleanup
    5.2 EAappInstaller
    5.3Touchup
    7. Now you can still use Origin like it used to before..Start game and try, Hit me up on steam if it worked for you. https://steamcommunity.com/id/deadniu/"

  • @Kondax your workaround doesn't work anymore, i uninstalled ea app, installed origin, logged in, and click play from steam, now on first launch on steam it will prompt install ea app... :/

Sorry, to hear. Meanwhile it works in my case with the latest EA-App, not just fallen order also survivor (although survivor crashes often, in particular with RTX on). I hope the posted shortcut can help some...

I recently did a fresh install of windows 10 after cpu+mb upgrade and did the same process i describe.

Now i have repeated it and can confirm the trick wasn't just an accident lol

The procedure works and i also update it.

This game seems to be very capricious to launch. Very Weird.

This is one way to do it .

Other fonctionnal method are also describe in this thread.
