Re: Sims 4 - Game License Invalid

I have been dealing with this problem for over a year now.  My previous thread was moved to another thread marked solved. But my problem is NOT solved.

Taken from my initial post,

"When I try to run The Sims 4 game, I keep getting this message. "The app couldn't read the game's license file, so If the problem continues, try clearing your cache."

I have been having this problem since the last EA App update. I can run other games with the app. I seems only The Sims 4 is affected.

I have cleared the cache several times as suggested. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the EA App, as well as launching the EAUpdater.exe. I did the repair game option a couple of times. I have disabled my anti-virus and VPN. I have tried to find any solutions on the forum, but I have only seen other players posting about having the same problem, but not getting any answers or help. Other then moving and locking of posts."

Since I made this post,  I can not play any games in my library now.  When I try, I get the same message. So this is an issue with the app. I have made multiple error reports.

Still not able to play. Would appreciate some actual help for once. Instead of closing threads and ignoring the problem.

Missing yet another login event for the sims 4. This is about the forth one I've missed because I  can't play the game. And I  can't get any help from EA.

Still no help for a problem that is over a year old. Such great customer service. Just take our money and sweep us under the rug. I want my money back. All that I have spent over the 24 years I've played the sims franchise. (I'm not counting the last year, since I haven't been able to play.

I'm sorry I'm three months late but I had the same problem. I had to uninstall the EA app and my sims game then restart my computer with it uninstalled. After that reset and reinstall its working. IDK how, but it is.

Do you happen to have Xbox game pass linked to your EA account?

I am having this problem, too. I found a thread in another language for how to fix it, but their advice didn't work for me. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling everything, repairing files, moving files, etc. etc. etc. everything suggested on this entire forum and nothing has worked. I have 500+ hours in this stupid game, there's no reason it shouldn't be working.

Hi Han. I'm a little late to the party, but also anybody who has come into this issue. I had this issue too. There's a difference between Xbox pc subscription that links to EA play and the Xbox. Ultimate, the Xbox ultimate has a cloud gaming, which then doesn't cross entitlement. And when I unlinked my Xbox account directly through the EA account, I was able to have my own licensing, be the primary licensing and able to run my Sims games again. I'm now troubleshooting on if having EA play only through my Xbox app still grants me access to certain games, but for now I have resolved The Sims issue. Do not have your xbox account?Linked into your e a account. It will overlap the licensing, especially if you're only using the xbox pc subscription

I've had this issues since the end of 2020, start of 2021. And to this day, it still does not work. I've tried soooo many things- its ridiculous. I even took my laptop to a software engineer out of town and she couldn't figure out what was wrong or a solution to fix the issue. I opened a case before, years ago- and it was closed by someone and never solved. I am truly disappointed in the "customer service" and "support team" that EA have in place. And now with their new Support AI, it's not any better- and make it harder to talk to an actual person and open a ticket. Just sad that a billion dollar industry is CONTINUALLY having issues like this, with no one to offer any help.
