Please describe Everytime that I boot up EA Desktop with Battlefield V installed

Summarize your bug So everytime that I install Battlefield V on my PC, the EA Desktop app, as soon as it boots up gives me the "DisplayName field missing from registry." popup. This doesn't happen for example with Battlefield 1 nor other games, just with Battlefield V. No matter what I do (from the options that I am given (Sign in/Open Origin.com/Exit), it just gives me another "DisplayName field missing from registry." popup. As you can see in the attachments, I have screenshotted my receipt and also the error that I get. 
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? By installing Battlefield V
What happens when the bug occurs? I get a popup named "DisplayName field missing from registry."
What do you expect to see? A fix?

As you can see in the attachments, I have screenshotted my receipt and also the error that I get. I have tried changing my password and untrusting all devices, but I still get the error. Perhaps it is because I had bought the Deluxe Edition of the game back in 2018 and "upgraded" to the Definitive Edition via in-game currency.

    Exact same thing has been happening to me. I just upgraded to a new system yesterday and was installing my games on new hard drive, and every time I open the EA app I get spammed with that registry error.

    @MilanProdanov22 This happens to me too even without opening BFV, as soon as the EA app is running I get spammed with this popup with the BFV logo. Even while I'm playing BF2042 minimising the game while I'm playing it๐Ÿ™„

    Please describe While playing any game or restarting the application "EA Desktop", the same error occurs multiple times and minimizing the actual game.

    What happens when the bug occurs? Everytime im starting, restarting the EA-Desktop App or launching a game. Even if i already play given game it still says, i dont own it.
    What do you expect to see? Maybe my serialnumber or at least a fix for this problem.

    After buying the BF2042 Ultimate Edition and Installing it, those given error occurs multiple times.

    On startup from 1 to 7 times.

    Clearing the cache, reinstalling of the EA-Desktop App (even 2 times as administrator) and reinstalling the game doesn't helped.

    Since i bought the game via the EA-Store within this App i got a receipt but no serialnumber nor can i find one in the registry.

    Google and reddit for the past 2 Weeks with using nearly every solution there so far brought me to contact with the costumer support.

    3 links for "plattform specific troubleshoots" later, still the same problem on start of the app today.

    If i can provide any further information or help, please let me know.

    I did a fresh install moving upto Win 11 the other day. I am now plagued with the exact same issue. It is drving me insane. Google shows its been a problem for years, have zero hope it will be fixed.

    Hi everyone,

    thanks for all your reports! We just moved a couple posts about the same issue into this thread.

    This definitely seems like a weird issue, and we are taking a closer look at it.

    To collect some further information for the investigation, it would be very helpful if you could provide us with your EA app logs and EA Error Report ID.

    You can find the EA app logs here: C:\Users\[Your computer name]\AppData\Local\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\Logs.


    For the EA Error Report, you can find it in the EA app, top left under Help and EA Error Report.
    Please make sure to also tick the box "Share diagnostic information when report is submitted".


    Then just post your Report ID here in the thread.

    Thanks for looking at this @EA_Vendcera 

    I just submitted an error report in the app, and the report ID is f849a588-0d76-4083-9b5a-290169b2988b

    I've also attached the three logs that were updated when I launched the app and the error occurred.

    The error always shows up (sometimes once, sometimes multiple times) when I launch the app since I have installed Battlefield V, but I'm also consistently able to reproduce the error by repairing my installation of BFV. When I do that, I get 4 or 5 instances of the error that pop up. I also noted this in my error report.

    Hi, I have also been having the same issue since installing the EA app. The issue seems to be related to both BFV.exe and BFVTrial.exe, only changing the names of both remove the pop up windows. They appear every time I launch EA app and occasionally mid-game as well. 

    I have tried reinstalling the game and the app like many others here with no effect. 

    Looking forward to it being resolved as I have temporarily disabled the exe files by renaming them until it's fixed as it is distracting when playing other games.
