game crashes and does not update!!!!

Since the beginning of the year we have not been able to play Sims 3 without either a crash to the desktop or error message upon trying to download patches. We are down to the bare essentials just the Base Game because NONE of  the expansion packs (World Adventures, Late NIght, Ambitions, Generations, Seasons or Stuff Packs) are recognized. The games will NOT launch from Origin at all!!!! I can't even update past 1.0.631.00001 and this week the base game is crashing without warning/error. We have a manually uninstalled and reinstalled the game about 27 times since the second week of Janurary. We downloaded CC cleaner. It helped reinstall the base game; but it only works intermittedly.   We really enjoy playing Sims 3 and were anxiously waiting for University to come out; but if we can't get the games we've had over a year back operational we will no longer support the franchise. Do you have any suggestions as to how we can get our full gaming experience out of the Sims 3?
