Re: Sims 3 Disc authentication failure from MY mounted iso
Hello,
I should preface this by saying that I legally purchased my base game and all expansion packs. The .iso files in question were made by me, from my own game disks as back ups. They aren't torrented or pirated in any way. I've been searching the internet for hours and everything I've read in forums has at least one person making the (rude) assumption that anyone mounting an image file to play a game is playing a stolen game. I am not. I'm trying to set up a solution for my young daughter to play the game I purchased for the two of us without having the disc destroyed or lost when she goes to her mother's house. Thus far I have been mounting the latest (in order of release) expansion pack iso using daemon tools into an emulated cd drive, and my game loads up to the point after the expansion pack loading screen. Afterwhich I get a disc authentication failure. Which to me seems strange as the iso file was made of the disk used to install the game. I've run from the emulated disc, from the shortcut, and from the file. They all get the same error.
I can't send the disk with her, it won't come back. I don't feel it is right to purchase another copy via origin download when I've already paid for one is a real solution. I also don't think stealing a cracked copy via torrent is a moral solution either. Any other solutions would be much appreciated.
I am running on a 64 bit win 7 system. The latest expantion in my library is seasons.
