how to reset sim

ctrl+shift+c hold all 3 together in the menu bar that appears at the top of the screen type in resetsim *   (hit enter ) this will reset all sims inculdeing your own

to reset one sims ctrl+shift+c hold all 3 together in the menu bar that appears at the top of the screen type resetsim first name last (of your sim ) hit enter

also if your using mods make sure that if your game has the latest patch 1.57 then you need to check the state of the mod that you have the latest one the same patch level as yours
