@DaddyHailey1020 If you get an error when trying to launch Sims 3, please post a screenshot. Please also run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

Hi, I got an update yesterday on Origin which switched me to EA app. Now won't launch game.
Get an error message on the app. I was using a patch launcher to run the game with a smooth patch, or something?
I remember having to alter some setting in the x86 folder, which I'm thinking is the issue. I've tried the EA fix and last option is to uninstall, but I don't wanna lose all these Sims3pack CC along with that.
Can you advise please?
@Amazonian12 If you don't want to lose your custom content, or your saves or any other user content, then just go into Documents > Electronic Arts and move the Sims 3 folder to the desktop. This folder contains all your user content, and you can have multiple copies of the folder and swap them as often as you like.
Once you've reinstalled the game, try to play once, and if it works, you can delete the new Sims 3 folder in Documents > Electronic Arts and put your old one back, and your cc and other user content will show up in-game again.
By the way, your C drive is quite low on space, so it's a good idea to clean that up sooner rather than later. It's not causing this particular issue, but it could introduce other problems if the free storage gets any lower.
Wow, thank you for the reply and advice.
I was under the impression that when you installed Sims3packs through launcher, it put certain things into the x86 folder. But if that's not the case, then great!
I know about my space issue, it's been a bugbear for years. 120gb doesn't give you much breathing space.
I like to keep it around 20g free, but lately that doesn't seem to be possible. I'll try the fresh install and see how I get on.
Ty very much again.
