Sure!
Once you have it pasted into Notepad:
1. File -> Save As
2. In the File name, name it something like sims3script.ps1
The important part is that it ends with .ps1
3. Save it somewhere convenient, like your desktop
4. Go to the file and Right-Click on it. There should be an option called "Run with PowerShell"
This will run the script with PowerShell. Once you open The Sims 3, the script will close automatically. Hopefully that helps. 🙂Thank you SO much!!! I can finally play TS3 on my new PC. You're a life saver!!! <3
your literally an angel tysm for this 😁
hello, ive done all of this but when i click run with powershell it does not stay open. it closes quickly. what am i doing wrong?
Hi! I have tried these steps multiple times now. When I go to click run with powershell, the powershell window box pops up for about a second and then crashes. I don't know what to do. I just want to play the game again ☹️
@emmz416 Use the Task Manager method. It's the most inconvenient but also the most reliable. If it doesn't work, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

Hey,
I'm having the same issue (with both the Sims 3 and The Sims Medieval), I'v attached the dxdiag, do you think you could take a look at it for me?
@Shadfanshan11 Your dxdiag shows that you're definitely seeing this issue with Sims 3, which is expected considering your computer has an Alder Lake CPU. Please try one of the workarounds in the accepted solution on page one, and apply it to TS3.exe, without the W, since you've installed through the EA App.
The Alder Lake patch only works for Sims 3, but the other two options could be applied to Sims Medieval as well. The Task Manager method is self-explanatory, with the only difference being that you apply it to TSM.exe; for the PowerShell script, you'd edit it to replace TS3 where you find it with TSM , and you could delete TS3W the one time it appears.

Hi, I realized this is 4 years later. I think I followed all the steps but when I click "run with PowerShell" it pops up for a split second and then disappears. The game still won't start. I'm at my wits end.
58668021fdbcd4e5 Try the patch or the Task Manager method instead.
As a side note, you don't need this workaround at all if you're playing through the EA App. If your game won't start and you've installed through the App, you have a different issue. In that case, please start your own thread and attach a dxdiag.
