Problems Redeeming My Sims 3 Expansions on EA Account

Hello everyone,

I’m having a really frustrating issue with my Sims 3 expansions and I hope someone here might have advice or has experienced the same problem. I have the 64-bit version of The Sims 3 on my EA account, but I’ve run into a lot of trouble with the expansions. The only add-on I was successfully able to add and that actually works is Late Night. University Life and Pets are also on my EA account, but they only work for Windows – even though I’m using a Mac. The other expansion packs — Seasons, Tropical Paradise, Supernatural, and Ambitions — I cannot redeem at all. Whenever I try, it says the codes have already been redeemed, even though I never activated them on any EA account myself.

I own the physical CDs for all of these expansions from back when I was a child. I installed and played the games on my desktop computer back then, long before I ever had an EA or Origin account. I would really love it if there were a way to add these expansions to my EA account so I could enjoy the full Sims 3 experience on my Mac. I can even provide photos of the physical CDs as proof of ownership if needed. It’s really disappointing that these legally purchased expansions are basically unusable for me now, and I’m hoping there might be some solution.

Thank you for any help or advice!

Keep in mind that any Store content the old account owns wouldn't transfer.  So if you do own content you want to keep, make sure that the account that owns it is the one that survives the merge process.

As for some content not working on your Mac, that's a Known Issue:

You'd need an EA support rep to add the "entitlements," as they're called, for the 64-bit Mac versions to your account.

So you'll need to contact support for both issues.  The Mac one should be straightforward; link the master thread and reference EA_Solaire's accepted solution if necessary.  For the others, take a photo for each pack showing the disc, its case, and the product code (clearly readable).  Upload these when you submit the help request.  Support reps can look up codes to see what happened to them, for example if they belong to a different account.

I managed to log into my old TheSims3 account, but only Ambitions is registered on that account. I don’t understand why the other games are not there, as I played them about 12 years ago on a desktop PC. Back then, I didn’t have an EA or Origin account — I only started using Origin/EA when I began playing The Sims 4.
