Re: Wrong email/password

I have this issue daily and I find if I play without logging in then log in once the game had loaded it's successful.

I am having exactly the same issue. I am able to log in at the first screen, then I click the play icon and after loading it says incorrect e-mail or password. I enter the correct info but keep getting the same message. Sometimes it works after two or three attempts, other times it does not. I have never had this issue before. I dont know why IE is involved? I use Chrome.

Ok have just reset IE as suggested - now the game wont work correctly!

Once the game loads the first screen no longer shows the account log on, just a message that says it can't display the web page correctly. Then when I click the play button, i load the game and I still can't log on. And now it no longer recognises the DLC - ie world adventures, etc. I can run the game and can't log on from within it either.

Any ideas anyone? 

@RadioMan71  Based on your description, it sounds a lot like your entire TS3 game folder in Documents was removed or deleted.  This would delete your saves as well as your store content—all of this data is located in your game folder.  When TS3 can't find this folder, it spawns a new one, but this clean folder won't have any of your content.

If you didn't get rid of your game folder yourself, it's possible that it was automatically uploaded to OneDrive.  You can retrieve the folder from there and put it back in Documents\EA, but of course be sure to remove the newer folder first.  Then disable OneDrive so that this doesn't happen again.

You don't need to be logged in, or even connected to the internet, to use your store content while you play.  I myself disconnect from wifi before launching TS3, and my content always loads just fine.  Of course, if you play through Origin, you'll need to sign in first, but you can then put Origin in offline mode and turn off your connection before loading the game.  The only store function you won't see is the in-game shopping experience, but it's better to turn that off anyway, as it's a drain on resources that your saves need for themselves.

And yes, it's possible to decline to login at the Main Menu, then do so once your save has loaded.  It has no effect on the save itself or any content in your game folder.

@silverwood02  The launcher occasionally doesn't load properly; this could be random, or maybe due to someone trying to fix the login issues.  (I have no idea.)  I wouldn't worry about it unless continues to not work.

For the packs not loading, try clearing Origin's cache.  If that doesn't help, you can uninstall and reinstall Origin itself (the hard way), which wouldn't affect your installed games.

Ok just tried again, still dont have the correct launcher, but the addons are there, they had unchecked themselves!

@silverwood02  It's strange that the launcher isn't working for you.  I just tried it myself, and it loaded correctly, so the problem doesn't look like it's on EA's end.

Maybe try clearing IE's cache again, but before you launch, pull your TS3 game folder out of Documents.  This is where your saves are, as well as any other content you've created and added, but maybe one of the files inside is corrupt.  When you launch the game again, it will spawn a clean folder with no content.  If the launcher loads, you can move your saves, store stuff, and everything else you care about into the new folder from the old one, but you'll leave stale caches behind.

@puzzlezaddict  If I don't login all the purchases I made in the sims 3 store definately dissapeared for me.  I just tested this myself and I purchased about 400 items in the shop, so it's a lot to download and install every time I try this (over 5 GB)  But yeah it gets deleted somewhere during the time the game is loading.  If this shouldn't happen something even worse is going on here.

@RadioMan71  This still sounds to me like either game folder corruption or a removal of the folder into which the store content has been added.  This is why I suggested pulling the entire folder out of Documents and letting the game spawn a clean one, then installing an item into that folder to test.  Please also make sure that OneDrive is deactivated; if it's uploading your TS3 folder, that would explain how the store content keeps disappearing.

@puzzlezaddictSorry to bother you again, but I can find my game folder, almost all what is in it and I think you are right about this somehow.  I can find the download folder, but it feels like the folder where this stuff is installed was moved, because it's definately not inside the game folder.  I also can't find the saves folder, but I will quickly post a quick screenshot with all the folders here, just so that you or anybody else can compare it to their own.  If the folders where the store items are installed and where my save games are kept are still in there could anybody please tell me what they are, thank you very much.

Just a quick note, I did find the save folder, but not where the store items get installed.

@RadioMan71  Your saves are stored in the folder titled Saves; each save has its own folder with a handful of files inside.  Your store content is bundled into .ebc files, and your custom content into .dbc files, both in DCCache.  For premium store content to work, you also need your ccmerged.package file from DCBackup.

But again, the best way to troubleshoot is to pull the entire TS3 folder and all its contents—everything you see in that screenshot—out of Documents at once.  Don't just move one of the folders inside, remove the entire thing.  Then launch the game again, quit, install a store item, and load a new save to see if that item appears in-game.  If one of your .ebc files is corrupt, or your ccmerged.package, that would explain how some of your store content keeps disappearing.  If that's the case, you'd have to rebuild a significant portion of your store content anyway, so you might as well experiment with a clean folder.

I did want to clarify:  When you play while offline, you won't see the items from the in-game shopping experience.  This is not the same as having your store content removed from your game folder.  I always play with this shopping feature turned off; it's not necessary to buy store content or to make it work.

Tried moving the EA sims 3 file and starting the game, the launcher appears but still with the web page error on the welcome screen. The game loads just can't log in.

I think the welcome screen not showing is an internet explorer problem, my guess is to look into that, clear internet explorer cache and such.

I had it working with deleting the game folder, but only for that single instance you boot up the game, but I don't fully believe that the store issue is due to corrupted files but if it is corrupted, I really would like to know what is corrupting it after a single restart.

I have done that, I cleared the IE cache and reset as suggested, still no joy. I did get the welcome screen ok - just could not log on. Then followed the advice to clear IE and the welcome screen has gone.

OK not sure if this helps...I reinstalled IE11, started sims 3 and now have the launcher back again. Still no idea how to sort the log on thing though. All I know is when you delete or reset IE you lose the launcher page.

Just wanted you to know that the Sims 3 is still not fixed. At least not for me. The "Welcome" page on the launcher is still a blank blue screen. And I still can't sign on in the "Main Menu" page when the game uploads. I can only play offline.

All my problems seem to be gone now, ok I tried this only once and I heard that others were still capable of signing in every once in a while.  I couldn't, had to delete the gamefiles in order to achieve login.

Now, I could login straight away and best thing is my store items showed back up also, anyway I'm happy now, let's hope it stays this way 🙂
