I've been waiting on EA chat for hours for a solution as my game is not loading.

@KellyWhovian Your dxdiag is missing the video information which is probably one of the first things to check. Please use the paper clip in the bottom of the reply box to attach an image of your dxdiag would be better. Did the game ever work? The game requires .net framework 3.5 to run. The download version does not work with Win 10. You have to open the control panel - go to programs and features - turn windows features on and off - enable .net framework 3.5.

@jsrtig In case it helps, there's a current issue with new Sims 3 installs, solved by manually installing DirectX 9:

Edit: Since this thread is quite old, I'll lock it here. If you're having issues opening Sims 3 in Windows 10 and manually installing DirectX 9, as described in the above link, doesn't help, please create a new thread in this section.
