How does the attraction system work?

Hi,

I have been trying to search online that can explain to me how the Sims 3 attraction system works, but haven’t found anything with an in-depth explanation.

I’m trying to get my two sims to be “physically attracted” (I think that’s what it’s called according to this forum) with one another, i.e: when the two meet for the first time or “considers attractiveness”, hearts pop up with the though bubble the sims have of each other, and the notice trigger popping up to say “I don't care what anyone else thinks, I think you're hot!”

I’ve tried matching compatible signs with what the online guide says is compatible (my male Sim being a Libra) but anything short of the two having the exact same sign, the there is only a 7/10 attraction level, and not a full 10/10.

If someone can explain to me how the attraction system work and how I can get the full 10/10 “I don't care what anyone else thinks, I think you're hot!” physical attraction for my two sims, that would be ideal.

  • @poppingmythik  If you're up for reading a little XML, this is the system as it exists with no mod-related interference:

As you can see, there's a random element, but the overall score is heavily influenced by wealth and high career and skill levels.  So if you've ever wondered why no one seems to like your new sims when they're just starting out, but once they're married and successful in life, other sims won't leave them alone, this pretty much explains it.

Without mods, the attraction score between two sims doesn't get rerolled, at least under typical circumstances.  A certain mod from NRaas, one that can't be mentioned on these forums due to its slightly-too-adult content, takes care of that.

@poppingmythik  The mod name starts with W and has nothing to do with books.

I thought you might already be using it given your description of attraction, but perhaps not.  And if the confusion is that you don't know it has adult content, the key is that it lifts certain interactions that are blocked by the game core and are deemed unsuitable for a younger audience, regardless of what that younger audience is actually ready to handle.

If I can make a wild guess, is it the same word that the sims use when describing the act of copulating?
