Re: Sims 3 can't login to launcher

@ptwing711  Did you specifically clear Edge's history, or at least its Internet Explorer-mode data?  That's what the launcher and game use regardless of your computer's default browser.

As a test, please create a new admin Windows account and try signing in there.  This distinguishes between problems limited to your main account and more global ones.

Please also let me know what happens when you try to login at each stage.  Do you see an error that says the login is invalid, or does nothing happen at all except the login button shows up again?

Getting extra SimPoints is a longstanding glitch with the Store and is unrelated to this problem.  Have fun with the free points.

Thank you for your speedy reply!

I had thought I cleared specifically edge's, but as I saw mentioned here in your reply and other places the Internet Explorer mode, I decided to investigate, and for whatever reason it wasn't "turned on" I guess? Either way, before I changed the setting to allowed I did not see the delete IE mode history, whereas now I do. But even then, I immediately tried clearing it and deleting the email.bin thing and it did not seem to change my results.

As to your other question, on the launcher I get no message and after hitting enter or pressing "Ok" the pop-up immediately shows up again; however from the Main Menu and Options mode, it does give the "Invalid Email/Password" message.

Okay, this morning I tried to make an admin account, and I thought I did everything right, but EA and the sims 3 just won't open whatsoever. Could that be from it not being in my C: drive?

@ptwing711  Is the new account local?  That's critical because if it's not, as in, it's linked to your Microsoft account, Windows could download some of your data into the new account.

At any rate, I'd like to see a dxdiag just to make sure nothing weird is going on here.

Please also let me know what antivirus you use, or if you prefer, disable the antivirus (temporarily) and repair Sims 3 in the EA App (under Manage > Repair), then try again to play.  As long as you don't do anything else at the same time, your computer should be safe.
