Re: Bullet velocity too low

I do think some guns definitely need a boost to bullet velocity but I don't think it's as bad as you're describing.

Longbow DMR should have higher bullet velocity than the G7 Scout for instance...

Other weapons with questionably low bullet velocity for their item group

VK-47 Flatline, why should it be lowest? You can't even get a barrel attachment. The Hemlok (relatively certain the hemlok has a similar fire rate if you do semi-auto and spam click as well) and R-301 are better choices for mid and late-game leaving the flatline behind.

Mozambique, 40% slower bullet velocity than the EVA-8 and Peacekeeper is pretty brutal especially since this gun is pretty meh for damage to begin with.

Also the Devotion has an oddly high bullet velocity being the highest in the game. It makes sense that the energy bullets have high velocity but it doesn't make sense that the Devotion has higher bullet velocity than the Triple-Take, especially when you also consider that the Spitfire has slower bullet velocity compared to the Longbow DMR.

  • @Comanglia  It's close to medium range I'm talking about.

It's like there's an acceleration problem or something, sometimes I have to lead shots a lot with most guns at <50m, coming from any shooter it's unnatural.

Maybe it's input lag/regular network lag, I can't put my finger on it but I know it's consistent and feels different from any game, even Titanfall 2 with weapons of the same class.

With some guns it's not an issue, never with the peacekeeper or the wingman.

I'm fine with the long range weapons and that you have to lead shots, it comes naturally but when you have to do that with an SMG when you are in their faces it does not.

im mainly pissed about the bullet velocity of the wingman and the weapon sway. someone was ziplining 10 metres away from me and i had to lead my shots?!?!?!?! id be fine with the boosted loader gone and -1 bullet per mag if they could give a buff to the fire rate and the range of the wingman. the introduction of the boosted loader was like putting a bandaid on the knee of someone suffering from a brain tumor; everyone thinks its cool but it does nothing to the core problem with the softbal- wingman. i also think that something like this would be  buff to mnk as mnk excels at range which the wingman lacks right now.

  • From what I can tell, most guns in apex are actually sub 700 feet per second, despite the devs reporting higher. Battlefront has faster shots...
I don't think the devs have ever used a real gun because those sumbetches shoot upwars of 1500+ feet per SECOND for mid calibur rifle rounds. Pistols are slow, but even in Apex, they feel TOO slow.
Then you add in how people can gain an instant speed boost by sliding into a jump and it's just all kinds of messed up. Even Titanfall 1 had a better system.

Yeah, thats true. It is one of the biggest apex problems, although there aren't many threads about it - bullet velocity is simply not in tune with fast movement of characters.

Bullet drop of some guns remind me water pistol - for example alternator and hemlock, other - a catapult, mainly sniper rifles. You fire one shot and you can observe its flight - for a few seconds. In the firing range one can feel that bullet travel takes a lot of time.

Thats one of the reasons to use energy weapons - they have the highest bullet speed and the lowest bullet drop. It is one of the ways to go around it, although havoc is not the most pleasant weapon to use right now. Not in BR mode, at least. And Triple Take, which was a sniper rifle for energy ammo, has been care packaged.

Apex is advertised as fast paced battle royale game, but it seems that pace is too quick for weapons and sometimes even for the servers, on which game is running... 😉

  • Feel the same way too.

I know its a different game, but in BF2042 Beta it felt much better to shoot and hit with their kind of meta then it is in Apex.

I can't stand the fact that what ever gun or rifle I would have, I would miss someone at a range between 0-3m, no matter what recoil that weapon would have.

Even at 1m I have to lead the flatline fro example 3-5mm (34" Monitor) in the direction the OP is running to hit his head. Every APEX Legend must have some sort of Jedi Force Speed...

    Thats so ridiculous...

Generally speaking Battlefield series has very pleasant gun play, Battlefield 1 for example was very fun, i had like 900 hours in it and i left it only because i needed something new and it was simply enough. 🙌 Battlefield V isn't bad in that regard too. People from Dice always do it as they should. If someone killed me in BF i knew it was my fault.

But returning to apex - there is nothing better like having fully concentrated peacekeeper shot and hit for 8 damage(because someone still manage to move a bit),  or hemlok with burst which could hit for 60 + and hits for 17 for no reason. Oh well. I avoid those two weapons exactly for that reason, and other people seem to do the same.

Apex would benefit from increasing the bullet speed at least of some weapons but i don't think it will happen.🤨

If you are able to shoot each other, then the bullet fly tie is way too slow... Or if you can dodge a bullet, same.
