Wow, so, it's been a couple of updates since I did it, but...

I always go in fast and hard. No "be careful," no "take a breather," just hit her as hard as I can as fast as I can.

I don't know if there's been a change that affects that, but that's what always works for me. Well. I did have an issue when I used Caleb Vatore and he did his vampiric run and his allies arrived right around the time Mother smacked him on the ground, but... since then I also always call the allies, add them to a group, "go here together" until they're standing in front of the door together and THEN open the door and choose to fight the mother...
