When I travel to a job site for the grim reaper job for the day it's taking me to an empty lot. Sometimes the dead person is actually dead, sometimes they are not. But if they are dead it tells me to get a witness statement so I do, but then it wants me to check objects around the dead body and there is nothing around the body to check, because again, we are on an empty lot. This happens almost every time.
If you use mods/cc,try moving the whole mods folder to another place, delete the localthumbcache.package and then test to see if the issue remains without mods/cc there.

I don't think there's an separate thread for the empty lot as it was one of the main issues for the dead Sim issue.
Do you have a lot of empty lots ? Might be worth to just add some houses from the gallery to your save so you have fewer of them.

Or is this about the objects missing as it's an empty lot ?
I'm sorry, I should have been more clear. My dead sims are actually dead, but there are no nearby items to investigate. For instance, I was sent to The Waterfront in Evergreen Harbor, and the dead sim was at the front of the lot, far away from the building, leaving no nearby items. The time before that I was sent to a random public lot, I don't even know where, with nothing but the dead sims, two witnesses and no interactable objects on the lot at all. I have learned to save the game before leaving for a reaping, so as to reload and try again. I didn't have any Reaper career issues at all before the update, which is why I made sure to mention it.
I don't think there's an open report for no items (at least I can't find it) so you might wanna report in the bug forum instead.
Adding some pics would be great.
Do make sure to test on a save with no mods/cc if you do have those.
