well they lose because i bounced. way too many other games to play than to be stuck with brand new players(I'm mediocre at best)against Predators.

I know that the matchmaking is harsh if you are a below average players so I am not arguing aabout that but what do you mean with "make you lose"? Its not like your gun won work or that the game purposely give enemy players better loot just to make you lose (I know that some tin foil hats will say this is the case =) etc. Regardless of what skill the enemy players you run into have, the outcome is still not "rigged". Ofc I understand that a hardstuck gold player will lose 9/10 fights vs a predator, probably 999/1000 if its a straight on 1v1 with equal armor and weapons.
However, I think we must remember that you would, by definition, "lose" every 1/2 fights (1 kd) and on average only win 1/20 (5%) matches if the skill based matchmaking was infinitely narrow, i.e if every lobby that you played in was filled with 59 EXACTLY equally skilled players as yourself, which ofc only is a hypothetical scenario. I for one play like 90% of my matches in pubs with randoms as a solo queuer on my overall KD is 2.6 and winrate 12% over 8k matches so I cant say that the game is rigged to lose. Far for the majority of lobbies gives me a fair chance of winning but if that what you call "rigged to lose" than I must remind you once again that the theoretical average KD and win rate is 1 and 5% if I only was put into lobbies of exactly equally skilled opponents and teammates.

Whatever system they use -glicko, elo etc.- they can tell which players are of like skill and group them together. That's what I want. I want to play with people I'm competitive with, win or lose.
I don't want to be grouped with brand new players against Predators. There's nothing competitive about that. If I go play football at the park, I don't want to be playing with people who've never played and have Aaron Rodgers show up to QB the other team. It shouldn't be that hard for the Apex devs to fricking get that.
- @Balladalidila The fact that if I que solo after 1-2 good games, I get noob teammates in gold/plat rankings (they're below level 30 and don't know how to play) and the enemy teams are all preds, smurphs, or cheaters (mostly preds who deranked).
Then if I que duo, our 3rd is an absolute b o t and we go up against every smurph player ever.
Then if I full stack team, all I run into is nonstop console players using strikepacks, smurphs, and cheaters, rarely anyone is a pred.
So basically the more you eliminate the game's chances of giving you noob teammates that would ultimately cost you the game, the game goes "face off with people who are the top 100 in the whole wide world AND smurphs AND cheaters"
Before you say there's "no cheaters" or "there's not a lot", explain how countless games there's that one guy long range sniping with a wingman, whos *not* missing a single shot, or how you can hide and someone who's not Bloodhound, or Seer, or someone who can actually track you, b-lines exactly to your location and beams you, etc.
That's not anyone "being bad" or "being good", its legit the matchmaking giving us the middle finger. - Balladalidila4 years agoSeasoned Ace
First of all; I am not even gonna touch the "cheaters or no cheaters debate" since it only gonna end up with me telling my POV and you telling your POV and neither of us is getting even the slightest more convinced the other one is right =) All I can say is that I dont --> experience <-- many cheaters, either in bronze to Diamond4 ranked or pubs. Sure, sometimes I get double HSed or one clipped but I would be the biggest hypocrite in the world if I used that as an evidence for cheaters since I also one clip people left and right. So if you think many people are cheating against you then I just can say I am sorry for your bad experience.
I just played 5 hours of gold1 to plat 3 games with a premade friend and I could not see any strong correlation between our performance and the performance of our random teammate in the next game. Some were terrible, some were very good. But anyhow; I do think we should always prove stuff like this with hard empirical evidence if we want to make a real argument, like documenting the summery screen of many consecutive matches, like I did here a while ago:
I know these were 30 consecutive casual matches but I couldn't find any patterns in the level of my opponents vs the level of my teammates other than randoms almost always suck haha. Maybe if I am in the mood, I might to a similar experiment also for ranked.
But anyways; I think a much more plausible explanation for "bad randoms" is also the most simple one; rather than thinking the matchmaking purposely punish you with bad teammates, I think its way more likely that people who play this game as a 3-man premade, at any given rank, are on average better than random queuers for that same rank . In other words; at, lets say "plat 4 lobbies", the best players among those seeded in that lobbies are usually 3-man squads whereas the worst players usually are solo queuers, simply because good players usually have an easier way of finding gaming friends and good players wanna steam roll and therefore make an effort to only play premade with other good players, its as simple as that. I see this every soft split on my Apex discord channel; as soon as the new ranked season starts; all the "good" players quickly team up.
They need to quit demoting high-ranking players into low ranked lobbies, like this is ridiculous, specially considering the guy was using a strikepack or xim, they were moving exactly like a PC player (was even looting like one too). They also need to handle their smurphing issue. Ran into a level 38 and 42 duo (3rd was a level 138) that just absolutely gunned down the whole lobby and were tracking people through walls.
Like for real... I don't know how easy it is to handle smurphs and cheaters, but this right here, yeah it has a fix, its called don't derank people 1 and a half ranks each split, cuz they can just sit there, do nothing, and then ruin rank for everyone else along side the smurphs and cheaters:
