Re: Horizon mains, please tell me how horizon is fair.
Horizon is like Reinhardt from Overwatch. They're not all that hard to use but a good player knows how to use them to the fullest. That being said, you can counter less skilled Horizon players more easily than you can counter higher skilled Horizon players.
There's a few things to note however:
- Passive:
Since the passive only removes the movement penalty from falling, you don't really have to worry about it unless you're running from a Horizon and had dropped down any kind of distance. If the Horizon is right behind you, they can catch up more while you're slowed down by the falling movement penalty.
- Tactical:
Usually used to get higher ground or to block doorways. Don't push doorways being blocked or try to rush them after the tactical had faded away. While if at all possible, hold high ground and if they try to take over the high ground, I wouldn't shoot at them while they're in the tactical as most of them move side to side or their teammates will shoot at you while you're distracted. Use grenades and throw them on the high ground you're defending, if you're able to throw them where the Horizon or their teammates are going to land, they should fall back in some way. Although some players do not care about grenades, usually when its a new player or a cheater, although if its a cheater, they're usually playing as Seer. If you can't hold the high ground, leave it and regroup. Its better to get away in this case.
- Ultimate
Either avoid the ultimate if you see it get thrown, or quickly shoot it down as its being thrown. It can be broken at some point while its being tossed through the air and after it lands. I've seen players break my ultimate before it even activated a few times before. If you can't get out of the way and you're unable to shoot it down, I would try to get out of it. Use legend abilities like Wraith's phase, Octane's stim, etc. to escape it as most Horizons would be throwing grenades at you. The last thing you want is for your whole team to be stuck in the ultimate while Horizon or her teammates, (especially a Fuse) is throwing grenades. You will see some sweaty players who would throw grenades first or at the same time as the ultimate to where even if you did run away, you're more within the blast radius of the grenades which means that you need to be watching your surroundings and maintain a sense of game awareness.
In my opinion, Horizon isn't all that overpowered. They're just annoying to deal with. Seer on the other hand, now that's overpowered. They "nerfed" him, but the "nerf" was a 10 second "you cannot use your ability" tactical that doesn't really have a long cooldown. If you found it annoying when a Revenant threw their tactical, you'll hate Seer more now as they can hit you with it through walls, have a heart beat indicator of where you are, and the radius of the effect, (I mean how wide it covers, not how far it travels) is decent enough that in most cases you can't exactly dodge it. Once hit, you might as well be in a deathbox, especially if you're also hit by Ballistic's tactical.
From what I've heard, Seer has the silence ability because Revenant is getting a rework for the upcoming "Revenant Reborn" event. Although right now, that does mean teams can run a Seer and Revenant along with a Ballistic, and it basically means no one can really fight back. If you push solo, Revenant and Ballistic can take you down, if you push as a team, you're hit by Seer, etc. Honestly Revenant didn't need a whole kit rework, rather just improved and Seer is suppose to be a recon legend. Nothing about disabling legend's abilities for 10 seconds is "recon". That's more of an assault or skirmisher class skill, (since assault legends are meant to start and hold fights, while skirmisher legends are meant to get into and out of fights, so it makes sense for either class, just not for recon).
