Re: How to survive(Shepard)without playing multiplayer?

It was impossible in vanilla, but with the free Extended Cut DLC, which I heartily recommend, the requirement was lowered to 3100 EMS, which can be attained without multiplayer.

That doesn't mean it's easy, though. You have to do a nearly spotless run of the entire trilogy to achieve this. Some advice:

  • Make sure no one dies in the Suicide Mission (this unlocks more sidemissions). Wrex surviving ME1 is a bonus.
  • Make all the right choices in ME2 and ME3 to ensure the quarians AND the geth survive.
  • Do the sidequests on the Citadel, regardless how tedious they are.

I don't think you have enough to be able to get the best variation of the red ending. How are your war assets currently distributed?

  • I'm at 2360 now and there is nothing left to gain.

I'm at the Invasion of the Illusive Man now.

I don't play ME1 because of the lack of controller support so a big number of my team is automatically dead. I use mods in ME2 and 3 to unlock console versions of the games but can't seem to get it to work on ME1.

Tali and Miranda are dead so no Geth fleet. The Geth fleet would easily get my 3100 too.

It sucks because my rep has been maxed out forever but it doesn't help hardly anything important.

I saved Earth last game at 1995 EMS so I'm curious what 2360 will get.

Would love to see the synth option opened up.

It sucks finishing the game at level 63 and not getting a good ending.

ME1 doesn't affect the series too much because ME3 came out before ME1 was ported to PS3, and BioWare didn't want to disadvantage too many players. The choices you make in ME1 are not necessarily good or bad, but will change the context somewhat in ME3 missions. For instance:

    Spoiler
Sparing or killing the rachni queen in ME1 will determine which choice in ME3 is the good one. If you spared the queen in ME1, sparing her again in ME3 will have a positive outcome. If you killed the queen in ME1, the surrogate queen in ME3 will murder folk if let loose.

You'll miss out on Wrex for skipping ME1, but you don't lose too many war assets for that. In fact, Wreav is a lot dumber than Wrex, which means you can get more war assets out of him if you play your hand right.

    Spoiler
With Wreav you can pretend to cure the genophage and get the support of both the krogan and the salarians. If Wrex is still alive he will eventually catch on and withdraw his support.

If you want to skip Mass Effect 1, you can always just download someone else's save file from http://masseffectsaves.com/ to get a more complete playthrough.

You can boost your EMS by using the Mini game at N7 HQ. Login with the same credentials you use for Origin and then choose "Galaxy at War"

Here you can play the Mini Game that pushes the "Readiness Rating" up, exactly like playing MP would do.

For the EMS, you can obtain max 3750 EMS in a game without any DLC's, so reaching the 3100 EMS needed if you have the "Extended Cut" installed is possible.

To be honest I always found it to easy to get the EMS score you need after the EC was released, but I also never lost someone (exept Wrex) in the first and second game.

Also important to note you have to achieve the required EMS before going to Cronos Station. That's when you're locked in.

I don't see any mini games...just things to click that start a countdown.

Is that all it is? Wait out the timer to get the extra 2% it advertises? If so...that's OP. hahaha

And I have five timers counting down now 😉

Yes that's all, and you are right some "Mini Game" it is. 😉

But it works. Still, be aware that the rating diminish over time. (same as in MP) So you have to play the Game on a regular basis when you play ME3.

If you use the 1 hour "Missions" you can get quickly to 100%. After that use the 5 hour "Missions" two times a day and you will stay close to 100%.

That's not a problem because I always commit to a game and if it takes 20 hours to play a game,I finish it in a couple days.

I'm not seeing a change at the war table though...after completing a few one hour missions.

I'm already at 4000 EMS now.

As soon as I saw that it was at 3600,I decided it was time to rid the galaxy of those bigoted Quarians. lol...

I welcome the Geth to my new and expanding fleet.

Even comms from the Admiralty are different now. They talk like we're winning now.

Ain't it sad that I'm that deep into my third play through this week? tsk tsk tsk...

    I been sick see... 😉

Wow, I make you to a Monster.

That can't be good for my karma.  😉

I also faked the Genophage cure and ignored the bomb on Tuchanka :P

@mckrackin5324 Ohh, what happens if you ignore the bomb? I fail so bad at being evil 😛 Just can't do it. Though I did once cure the genophage with Wreave and a dead Eve, that galaxy was doomed. 🤭

Also, @holger1405, thanks for pointing us to that minigame, next time I play I'm going to see what it's like without the penalty for not playing stupid MP, yay 😛 (Well, as long as I don't lose too much in the EGM missions... Still haven't figured out how to get the one before Cronos to go well).

  • @Leora85 wrote:

    It goes off. lol :P

It takes out a major portion of the planet's population and sends Wreav on the warpath looking for who bombed them. He doesn't figure it out til the end.

I think Primarch Victus' son is killed too but can't remember the effect it had on EMS...

That mini game is OPAF...I'm already high enough for all endings(3100)and haven't even saved the Krogan scouts yet...haven't even talked to the Quarians.

I did the synthesis ending yesterday and started a new game to check out the Citidale DLC...That was fun...hilarious at times. Enlightening at others...might have to watch a couple more races burn this time. lol...

I actually consider myself the good guy for letting these races get annihilated.

That what @mckrackin5324 already stated plus Eva is also killed. Not good! 😉

I am equally as bad at being evil as you, every time I try a Renegade play through, I end up as a full bar Paragon. 😕

I just wonder, do you guys hate the multiplayer that much? It takes like what? An hour to get to 100%? And every mp-character you promote adds to the new N7 spec ops team war asset that doesn't diminish over time. I thought it's just a gimick in the beginning but it turned out to be pretty entertaining, too. They did a really good job, on that front. With a rough start though.

Actually i can't achieve the low ems endings anymore while that war asset grands slightly over 8000(4000@50%)points by now. And i guess there are many guys with like 30000 or more points.
