Re: Can't connect to Cerberus network in Mass Effect 2

I thougth maby regestraiting it on Bioware sociale network might work.
But it says the code is invalit. But when I try another game (Dragon Age II and Mass Effect 3 (witch didn't need the code from origin)) it has no problems at all.

    @ijanssen

No outside registration will help as long as you can't connect to the Cerberus Network.

Did you tried to connect manually at the "Notebook" on the start screen?:

Yes I have tried that but still had the same result.
Can't connect to the Cerberus network.

Have also tried things from other forms since a lot of people have this problem but no results.

Do you use special character in your password or email?

Are you on an university network?

    Restart your router.

If that not helps, shut down your Windows firewall and disable the real-time scanner of your antivirus software.. (just for testing purpose, don't forget to activate the firewall and the antivirus software later on.)

Should it work after you disabled the firewall, here is a description how to allow a program to communicate through the firewall.

This ports must be open on your Router:

    Origin Ports
    TCP: 80; 443; 9960-9969; 1024-1124; 3216; 18000; 18120; 18060; 27900; 28910; 29900
    UDP: 1024-1124; 18000; 29900

Clearing your DNS cache. or testing a google DNS could also help.

At request of someone form EA, see top of this form, I tried solving it by disabling my firewall.
    Unfortunately enough it didn't work.

I have no idea where to look for the origin ports as you described. But clearing the the other two didn't work either.

Try to repair the game. (in Origin > Game Library > right click ME2 > Repair)

If that don't works, restart your router.

If that not helps, shut down your Windows firewall and disable the real-time scanner of your antivirus software.. (just for testing purpose, don't forget to activate the firewall and the antivirus software later on.)

If that not helps here is a EA connection troubleshooting guide.

I had tried this at the very first time, even reïnstaled it but that didn't work.
As you stated about the firewall that didn't work.
The folder use for my games has been excluded from my firewall as are both Mass Effect 2.exe files.

I cleared the DNS and the google DNS but that did'n't work either.

I still have no idea where to look for the origin ports as you described.

    @Nakatomi_Uk

Are you on a university or other non private network?

Do your credentials include special characters?

The ports should be open at your router.

Did you also stopped the real time scanner of your Anti virus for the connection attempt?

No I'm at a private network (my house)
And there are only uper lower cast and numbers for the credentials no special sines like ! ? / ect.
I did stop the virus scaner real time so that isn't it

As said I'm no computer expert and have no idea what the ports in my router are or where to look for them 😞 sorry
Maby thats it so if you could help with that?

    @ijanssen

What brand and model is your router?

Also try to clear your Origin cache:

All settings in Origin (only in Origin not in the games) are back to default settings after this.)

        - close Origin completely. (right click on the Origin symbol in the task bar > close)
        - Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time.
        - Type or copy  "%ProgramData%/Origin" (without quotes) > hit ENTER
        - Delete all the files and folders in the Origin folder, except for the "LocalContent" folder. (The "LocalContent" folder must remain untouched.)
        - Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time.
        - Type or copy "%AppData%" (without quotes)  > hit ENTER
        - Now your Windows explorer should have brought you to your "C:\Users\>your user name<\AppData\Roaming" folder
        - Delete the "Origin"  folder inside the "Roaming" folder
        - In the address bar of your Windows explorer click on the word "AppData".
        - Open the "Local" folder
        - Delete the "Origin"  folder inside the  "Local" folder
        - Restart your PC. > test

I'm having exactly the same problem.  None of my DLCs work and I really don't want to continue the game without them.

Edit: I cleared my Origin cache, opened all ports, and still getting the same results.

I tried clearing the cache and didn't got a result.

The router I have is the standard router from my provider KPN, it's a called a Experia Box Version 9 or V9.

Ok, now that all normal troubleshooting attempts failed, we approach this differently.

    - close Origin completely.

    - Go here, to the "me3explorer" Wiki page.

    - Scroll down to "DLC Patcher" > Download the ME2 DLL set. (at "just download")

(I use this DLLs myself for my modded game, but as always with third party software or tools I have to tell you that you use this DLLs at your own risk.)

    - Unpack the "masseffect-binkw32-master.zip" > go to the "masseffect-binkw32-master\ME2\Release" folder.

    - There you have a "binkw32.dll" and a "binkw23.dll" > copy them both into your ">drive<:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect 2\Binaries" folder. (overwrite)

    - Start Origin and enjoy the game whit your working DLCs.
