Re: Error Code 123:9d5d0e8f:b1d3c02d

This Error code popped up since my Sims 4 game was updated with the recent Sims 4 6/19/18 patch and no matter what I do, it will not let me play my game. I already took my CC and Mods out of the Sims 4 document and files. Deleted the Mods and CC and the game still won't work. It loads the game up just fine but loading a household to play doesn't work. I've been trying to fix it in every way possible since the game updated and it won't work. I've already tried solutions suggested for other people as well and they haven't worked yet either. Any help would be nice.

    Hi @fnaftheorist1000

do you have the same issues on a new game or is it tied to a certain save game (you do need to close the down the game completely and reload once you hit the error or it will spread to other saves).

What kind of mods were you using ?

  • I have the exact same thing. I also deleted all of my save games, made a new fam and still the error pops up...

  • Yep, I have. I Just started my game without mods and then it works fine. I think Some of my mods are not compatible with the new patch. Thanks for your help!!

It isn't tied to a specific family. It's tied to all of them, even new games. The only mods I had was MC command center and a sorcerer mod(since a friend suggested it) and I took off the sorcerer mod first and it still didn't work. I restarted the game and it doesn't work. I decided to take off script mods and it worked but the only thing i have is MC command center and I love that mod so is there a way to make it work with MC command center?

Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

After renaming, repair your game by right clicking on the game in Origin.

Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

    • Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
    • Tray Folder
    • Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
    • Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave and no longer needed - if you still have it)
    • Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
    • Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

  • I don't understand how renaming the "The Sims 4" folder changes anything except the name. I renamed it to "The Sims 4_backup" but everything was still there when I clicked on the folder. Does it only appear to be gone in the actual game?

  • If I'm understanding Crin's instructions correctly, renaming it will help have a backup and keep your Sims 4 files safe.

After repairing the game, run the game. This will create a new Sims 4 folder. Try playing a new save, if everything is playing okay. Try playing your broken game. If it's still giving you issues. Then do not save the game.

However if it does work, then start putting the files back, as per Crin's instructions above.

Please do test your mods and custom content, as some of them maybe outdated and either need to be deleted or replaced.

    Hi @beeke404

if you rename your folder, the game can no longer find it and will create a new one.

You'll still have all your files though and can put them back once you have verified that the game works on a fresh folder

If it all works, it's one of the files that no longer work and you can start putting the files back into the new active folder to find out which one.

It's most likely something in your mods folder or it was one of the cache files that you will not need to put back.

    Hope that clears it up.

  • My game came up with this error code, however it still let me play and it just SUGGESTED I restart the game. Not sure if this is anyone else, but all I did was save the game (in case of crashes) and continued playing...

  • So do we just need to go get the latest update of mc command center for this error code to go away? This error code has spread to my other save files...if I delete all my cc and mods will it stop?

Yes, you always need to keep your mods up-to-date.

There could be others that are causing similar issues though. So make sure ALL your mods are updated.

I’ve been trying to figure out for a week now why his error code has been popping up every time I try to play a household. After reading this I removed my mc command center out of my mods folder and downloaded the updated version of it, it works just fine now!

  • I have the same issue, not long ago I was really excited to play my game with my new cc and when I press to play the game (lot) it gives me the same error code my completely kicking me out. I don't want to redownload my mods and cc because its a lot. I have reopened the game and checked the files and nothing.

  • i will also like to add that i have deleted my mc command mod

A lot of mods/custom content give issues the game as they are no longer compatible with the newest patch.

Objects with a lot of slots no longer work and need to be removed

Here's a list that can help you narrow down the culprit: https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/968717/broken-updated-mods-cc-university-edition

If it still happens, use the 50/50 method: http://modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Finding_Problem_Custom_Content

If you have exactly that number, it might be Meaningful Stories. Make sure to update that.
