Re: need for speed the run not saving games

yes, i understand and thanks for the reply however the game does not save anything really. my progress is lost everytime i get back into the game. this is WITH cloud storage turned on. The only progress that is saved is my completion times which does me no good because I cannot reaccess where i left off and my driver level gets resest back to 1.

when i boot the game it says to not turn off my pc if i see the save to hdd sign. i never see that in the game when playing.

The HDD pictogram is displayed when you are using Local Data.
You can't see it if you use the Cloud.

When you launch Origin and scroll over the game (Library) can you please click on the (i) symbol?

You should see a tab Cloud Storage. Can you confirm if the box (Enable cloud storage for all games) is also ticked?
Also in this tab, you will be able to see the cloud storage used, please tell me if the button 'Restore Save' is grayed out.

Can you please also check this option?
Origin menu --> Application settings --> Tab In Game --> Check if Enable Origin In Game is ticked

havent checked this one, ill check when i get home. it should be on because i can hit ctrl f1 and it will bring me to origin (if thats what "enable orgin in game" means)

what in the world...i have two accounts? just found that out now here. sorry for the double posting from different accounts.

just uninstalled origin and all my other games related to it and reinstalled it and NFSTR also. game still doesnt save. what is up? is there a manual save i need to do before i exit? menu says that i may lose progress if i dont save before quitting? if its an auto save, why that UI popup message? its misleading.

the autolog icon does show when loading a game. all options you mentioned in your posts are checked and verified.

here are some screenshots. this is after i deleted origin and reinstalled my games.

origin clearly knows ive played 2hrs

here it is ingame. you can see that my level is back at 1. there is no option to continue where i left off. i must start a new game again. if i exit back to the main menu after playing the levels, i can come back to a "continue the run" menu option. however if i exit fully out to windows and then come back in, everything is reset.

i know something other than my progress gets saved to the cloud because here it shows my completion time and confirmation of completion of the stage on the right side, yet on the left they are still locked as if ive never played before. ive completed west coast and national park and i should be able to replay them and select them but i cant.

did a clean boot, disabled antivirus, rechecked/reinstalled game, ran as admin. still not saving.

here is additional proof that something is syncing, just not my progress to continue where i left off. my autolog shows that i own two run circuits however they are both still locked when i try to access them in the challenges.

my windows boot disk is a ssd. origin is installed on a separate internal hdd and so is NFSTR. i doubt this has to do with anything but could it be the culprit? does origin and NFS need to be installed on the main OS boot drive? i will be trying origin in my laptop tomorrow and seeing if NFS works there. i doubt origin is this fickle as battlefield 3 works fine.

my guess is that the game is saving some info to the cloud that is mostly pertinant info for racing against other players but progress in single player mode such as the run itself is saved to the harddrive which it obviously isnt doing (never saw a save to hdd icon). reason im guessing this is that you can download savegame data from various sites from google.
