I can verify that the Chingyu1023 traits mod can cause this issue. There is an update that resolves this, and if you use this mod, just Google his name and you should easily find the update. I can also verify that the update works. I'm not saying this is the only mod causing this issue. There is also a vampire mod "NoMoreVampireGrowling_CAS Only" that causes issues. I have a ton of mods, and updating them, and removing bad ones, is the only way to go. Can't stress enough that the 50/50 method, while time consuming, is one of the few ways to help eliminate issues. That said, this in no way absolves EA from all of the issues related to this game. Honestly, this game wouldn't even be playable if it weren't for the mod community.
